Kanye West has finished renovating the house he grew up in in Chicago’s South End, a new set of photos show.
West, 46, paid tribute to his late mother Donda – who died in November 2007 of heart disease after undergoing plastic surgery – with a black steel fence bearing the initials ‘DH’, short for ‘Donda’s House’.
The 1,600 square foot home, where West and his mother resided when he was growing up in the 1980s, has three bedrooms and a bathroom.
Neighborhood sources told DailyMail.com that a friend of West’s comes to the house every day to service him.
The house had been at the center of municipal disputes in the past, as inspectors called for its demolition in 2017, but West and his team were able to obtain permits clearing the way for the full renovation that took place.

Top of the list of improvements to the house – which was built around 1905, officials say – is a new roof.
The abode also features a pair of wooden stairs at the entrance as well as the back, with surveillance from security cameras installed on both sides.
The backyard of the Windy City mansion features a series of tree stumps that are painted with Jamaican colors of red, yellow and green. A Haitian flag is also planted near the stumps. Renovators removed a shed that was in the back yard and repaired the area.

West had featured the nostalgic location in a number of his professional projects, including a 2011 online feature called Watch the Throne, in which he walked through the house with Jay-Z.
West, 46, is a father of four with ex-wife Kim Kardashian, 42: daughter North, 10, son Saint, seven, daughter Chicago, five, and son Psalm, four.
He took his then-wife and eldest child North to visit the house in a 2018 edition of the former Kardashian reality series Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
West has also used the house as creative inspiration as he had a replica built for a 2021 listening event for his album Donda at Soldier Field in Chicago.

West has kept a relatively low profile in the six months since a Dec. 1 appearance on Alex Jones’ Infowars show in which he praised the Nazis and Adolf Hitler.
“He didn’t kill six million Jews,” West said on the show, in which he appeared alongside white supremacist Nick Fuentes. “It’s just factually incorrect. I’m not trying to be offensive.
He continued: “I love Hitler. The Holocaust is not what happened…Hitler has a lot of redeeming qualities…every human being has something of value that they brought to the table, especially Hitler.
The appearance took place before West was banned from Twitter later in the day for posting a photo of a swastika intertwined with a Star of David.
The turbulent day capped a two-month period in which West made headlines after making a series of anti-Semitic remarks, which led to a number of companies cutting ties with him.
The race-related controversies began on Oct. 3, 2022, when he and conservative commentator Candace Owens donned tops that read White Lives Matter during a Paris Fashion Week showcase for his Yeezy line.
West faced restrictions on his social media sites after he tweeted on Oct. 8, “I’m a little sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m gonna die fuck 3 On The JEWS…”
He continued: The funny thing is I can’t be anti-Semitic because black people are actually Jewish too…you played with me and tried to test anyone who opposes your program.

Talent agency CAA removed West from its roster, while a documentary about West made by studio MRC was shelved.
