The Kansas City Chiefs are at risk of being without two key players when they finally dive into playoff action this weekend.

The Chiefs will continue their journey to the Super Bowl on Saturday when they take on the Houston Texans in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs.

After receiving a bye week as the AFC’s No. 1 seed, Andy Reid’s team is expected to be rested and ready to go.

However, the reigning Super Bowl champions were hit with injuries on Thursday when it was announced that Jaylen Watson and Mecole Hardman were on the injured list.

Starting cornerback Watson was listed as questionable after breaking his ankle during a Week 7 game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Meanwhile, Hardman, the wide receiver who scored the Chiefs’ game-winning touchdown in last season’s Super Bowl, was listed as questionable.

Watson had been sidelined since late October with a broken fibula, but returned to practice early this month ahead of Kansas City’s Week 18 loss to the Denver Broncos.

The defensive star hasn’t played since the Chiefs’ Super Bowl rematch against the San Francisco 49ers on Oct. 20.

But despite being officially listed as questionable, he is still expected to return to action for the Chiefs defense on Saturday, according to Pro Football Talk.

However, Hardman is reportedly unlikely to join him in the lineup after being listed as questionable to be activated from injured reserve in time.

The wideout is returning from a knee injury and was a limited participant in practice this week.

No other Chiefs players had injuries, meaning defensive tackle Chris Jones and left tackle DJ Humphries are also expected to return in time to launch the Chiefs’ three-peat Super Bowl mission.
