Kansas City Chiefs fans who attended one of the coldest NFL games in history in January now need frostbite amputations.

The Chiefs beat the Miami Dolphins 26-9 at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City on Jan. 13 with temperatures of negative four degrees, but a wind chill of negative -27 degrees.

The game has become the coldest in Arrowhead history and the fourth coldest in NFL history. And it emerged that almost two months later, some devoted fans are still paying the price.

Fox4KC has reported that 70% of the people who suffered frostbite in Kansas City during that cold snap are now being advised to schedule amputations and that “the vast majority” of that number were at the Chiefs game.

“The patients who suffered frostbite injuries during the Chiefs game are just getting to the point where we’re starting to discuss whether amputations might be necessary,” said Dr. Megan Garcia, medical director of the Grossman Burn Center in Missouri. as she says she.

Fans who cheered on the Chiefs in negative 27 conditions will reportedly need frostbite amputations after the Jan. 13 playoff game against the Miami Dolphins.

Travis Kelce called the conditions “shocking” after the game, which the Chiefs won 26-9.

Taylor Swift was at the game and was seen greeting the hardcore fans at Arrowhead Stadium.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid went viral when his mustache appeared to freeze during the game.

And fans who haven’t needed such extensive measures still needed significant treatment, including “weeks” in an oxygen tank to recover.

Garcia added: “It’s still a lifelong process.” They will have tenderness and pain for the rest of their lives and will always be more susceptible to frostbite in the future.’

Travis Kelce, who played the entire game for the Chiefs that same night, said he was surprised by the conditions the teams played under.

“It was shocking how cold it was,” he said on his New Heights podcast the following week.

“That was probably the first game I ever encountered, even on a trip, if they pulled me out for a play, like running to the warmers to warm up my hands and feet trying to get the feeling back. It was freezing cold.

‘It was almost like it was so cold that the wind never touched you. It just slid past your frozen face. It was crazy, man.

Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, still attended the game but cheered him on from the warmth of a luxury suite. At one point, she was photographed walking up to a window and high-fiving hardcore Chiefs fans standing near her.

Meanwhile, Chiefs coach Andy Reid went viral after his mustache appeared to freeze while on the sidelines.
