Kandi Burruss is looking forward to seeing the new cast of The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
“I’m excited,” the 48-year-old star shared. MY! News on the red carpet at the 90th annual Drama League Awards on Friday.
It comes after she announced her departure from the popular Bravo series after 14 years on the show. A new combination of women will appear in the next season.
‘I’m excited for Shamea (Morton Mwangi), who is our friend. “I’m glad it was announced so I don’t have to keep secrets anymore,” Kandi said.
She emphasized, “I’ll be watching because my friends are still on the show.”

Shamea has signed on as a full-time cast member and Porsha Williams will return after a two-season hiatus.
Kandie revealed: ‘I already knew he was coming back before he announced it.
‘We had both talked about our decisions, what we were thinking of doing. ‘She was telling him that she didn’t know if she was going to come back.’
And he added: “He was telling me that he thought he might come back.” So we knew it. I’m excited for her.’
In addition to Shamea and Porsha, fans will tune in to see newcomers Brittany Eady, Kelli Ferrell, and Angela Oakley.
Kenya Moore and Drew Sidora will also return to the franchise.
Meanwhile, Marlo Hampton, Sanya Richards-Ross and ShereƩ Whitfield have not renewed their contracts.
“I’m not necessarily going to miss that stress,” Burruss admitted to E!.
The original cast included Lisa Hu Hartwell, Deshawn Snow, Kim Zolciak, NeNe Leakes and Sheree Whitfield.

The singer-songwriter commented: ‘They started filming this week. I was talking to one of them, I can’t tell who she was, but she was like, “Girl, it’s a lot.”
‘I thought, yeah, I don’t know if I missed that part. I forgot about the first stress of getting things going when you meet new people.
However, Kandi said there is something she misses about being a part of the production.
‘You don’t necessarily miss the stress or the work, but you do miss the camaraderie part. And know that you are part of something big. Because at the end of the day, no matter how much drama (there was), my 14 seasons on that franchise… a lot of wonderful things came out of it.’
