Kamala Harris has taken a five-point lead over Donald Trump with just 63 days until Election Day.

USA Today/Suffolk Poll Data released Tuesday shows the vice president has changed the script of the 2024 race since President Joe Biden dropped out.

In the same May poll, Biden and Trump were tied, but a surge in Democratic enthusiasm has allowed Harris to strengthen her lead.

Nearly 70 percent of the party is now enthusiastic about voting for Harris, more than double the number Biden said since June.

The results show that the debate a week from now is crucial for both candidates.

Kamala Harris leads Donald Trump by five points in a poll following the Democratic National Convention.

And only one in 10 voters say they are undecided or might change their mind before Election Day in November.

The latest poll was conducted among 1,000 likely voters from Aug. 25-28, a week after the Democratic National Convention in Chicago resulted in Harris’s nomination for president.

ABC News will host the first debate between Harris and Trump on Sept. 10 in Philadelphia. CNN’s debate between Trump and Biden earlier this summer was what sank the president’s reelection bid.

Harris launches reproductive rights bus tour in Trump’s backyard

Kamala Harris’ campaign has launched a ‘Fighting for Reproductive Freedom’ bus tour in Donald Trump’s backyard.

The Democratic nominee is sending a wave of representatives on the road to keep reproductive rights front and center, an issue that has proven to be a winner when it comes to motivating Democratic voters, especially women.

The first stop will be Palm Beach, Florida, where Trump’s presidential campaign is based and where his home in Mar-a-Lago is located.

Harris’ campaign has criticized Trump for cracking down on reproductive rights nationwide after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.

From Palm Beach, the bus will travel to Jacksonville and then make at least 50 stops in key states throughout the fall.

Tuesday’s tour stops will include Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar, Harris-Walz campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez, Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Republican television personality Ana Navarro and reproductive rights storyteller Anya Cook.

Last week, Trump said he would vote in favor of Florida’s ballot measure that would ban abortions after the sixth week of pregnancy. At that point, many women still don’t know they are pregnant.

James Carville: Kamala Harris needs to “distance herself from Biden on policy” to win in November

By Katelyn Caralle, Senior Political Reporter

Bill Clinton’s 1992 campaign manager is now telling Vice President Kamala Harris what she needs to do to win in November — and it’s not by promising four more years of the same administration as Joe Biden.

James Carville, who now advises a Democratic super PAC and hosts Politics War Room, told Harris that her biggest “political advantage” is that the public has already formed an opinion of Donald Trump.

Trump’s approval rating has never strayed far from 40% for nearly a decade. Regardless of his divisive policies, Covid, the accusations, who his number two was, or whatever bile he has spewed on social media, the jury of public opinion on Donald Trump is out.

He noted that Clinton won in 1992 with a “message of change versus more of the same” and Barack Obama won in 2008 with the “audacity of hope.”

Even Trump, Carville noted, won in 2016 “on a blank promise to revive a relic of America.”

In 2024, the winner will be the fresh one and the rotten one. It’s very simple: the shepherd of tomorrow wins the sheep.

Disgraced former New York governor Andrew Cuomo will face a firing squad in Congress over his handling of nursing homes during the COVID-19 pandemic

Former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo will face questions from Congress over his disastrous handling of nursing homes during the COVID pandemic.

House Select Committee on Coronavirus Chairman Brad Wenstrup, R-Ohio, told DailyMail.com:

Andrew Cuomo owes answers to the 15,000 families who lost loved ones in New York City nursing homes during the COVID-19 pandemic.

On September 10, Americans will have the chance to hear directly from the former governor about New York’s potentially fatal nursing home policies.

During his closed-door testimony, Cuomo was shockingly callous when pressed to explain discrepancies in nursing home death counts, repeatedly evaded responsibility for the nursing home directive, and, most outrageously, showed little remorse for the thousands of lives lost. A true leader acknowledges his mistakes and takes responsibility for his wrongdoing.

That is not what we saw from Mr. Cuomo during his tenure as governor or during the transcribed interview. We hope that during his public hearing next week, Mr. Cuomo will stop shirking accountability and answer honestly to the American people.

Social media erupts over Kamala Harris’ ‘fake accent’ in teachers union speech

By Katelyn Caralle, Senior Political Reporter

Kamala Harris faces more accusations of indecision, but this time it’s with her voice.

Critics say the vice presidential candidate used a “fake accent” when he spoke to a teachers union during a campaign rally in key Michigan on Monday.

Social media erupted with accusations that the Democratic presidential candidate mangled her voice during remarks praising teachers union members at a Detroit high school.

Harris has previously faced accusations and ridicule for allegedly using different accents, and the claims are now emerging just two months before Election Day.

“Kamala’s new accent just came out,” one X user wrote in response to a clip of Harris speaking to a teachers union at a high school in Detroit on Monday.

In their comments, social media users claim Harris adopted an urban accent to connect with working-class people.

“You may not be a union member, but you better thank a union member for the five-day workweek,” Harris said in a tone of voice atypical of her usual speeches.

Trump opens up betting lead after tying with Harris

Donald Trump has taken a lead over Kamala Harris in the betting markets after the vice president has gained momentum against her Republican rival.

Trump now has a 49.7% chance of winning, with a 0.9 percentage point lead over Harris, according to Real Clear Surveywhich brings together half a dozen sources of betting on the election. It is Trump’s first lead in the betting since August 22, and comes despite polls largely backing Harris to win the White House.

The pair were tied as recently as August 31, after Harris had just a 29% chance on July 21, the day Joe Biden dropped out of the race.

On August 15, Harris built up an 8.8 percentage point lead over Trump in the betting average, before the two candidates were tied again. Harris’ last clear lead over Trump was after the Democratic convention in Chicago, when she opened up a 2.3 percentage point gap.

That momentum has since been slowed, with oddsmakers seemingly unmoved by Harris’ performance during her CNN interview last week, which did little to impress her detractors and even drew criticism from Democratic voters.
