Ella Emhoff posted an impassioned message on social media as stepmother Kamala Harris’ time as vice president came to an end.

Harris’ 25-year-old stepdaughter took to Instagram to share her thoughts on the past four years after Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th president of the United States.

“I know we’re all feeling a lot of emotions today,” the activist and fashion designer wrote in the post, along with a carousel of photos showing snippets of her life with her stepmother in the White House.

“I’m really feeling the full spectrum of emotions right now as I reflect on the past four years,” he continued.

Emhoff went on to thank everyone who supported her during her stepmother’s time as vice president of the United States, adding that she is “very grateful.”

“Some of my highest highs and lowest lows,” he acknowledged.

He then attacked the naysayers, writing, “To those who made it harder, you suck.”

“It has truly been crazy and an honor to be the second daughter,” Emhoff wrote, concluding the message. “Thank you for letting me do it my way.”

In November, Emhoff opened up about her mental health struggles in a vulnerable Instagram post after appearing distraught as Harris’ presidential bid came to a heartbreaking end.

She shared an image of herself on social media, showing her looking devastated as she openly cried alongside campaign staff and family members.

The former second daughter used an image of Harris’ concession speech at Howard University as she urged her 500,000 followers to stay strong after Donald Trump’s victory.

“There are really no words,” Emhoff captioned the post. ‘We’re all going to get through this. It just hurts so bad right now and that’s okay.”

The outburst was sparked by a widely circulated post on X, formerly known as Twitter, that spread cruel rumors suggesting she had been admitted to an inpatient mental health facility.

The rumor has since been debunked as fake news and Emhoff set the record straight.

‘There is a rumor that I had a mental breakdown and was admitted to a hospital. Not true,” Emhoff wrote.

‘Also fuck you if you’re spreading that. There is nothing wrong with showing emotion and crying. “Anyone who says yes probably needs to cry a little,” he added.

“I’ve struggled with my mental health my entire life and I’m not ashamed of it,” Emhoff admitted.

Harris appeared somber as she arrived at the ceremony at the Capitol today, failing to manage a smile as she entered with President Joe Biden as Trump was sworn in as president of the United States.

She and former President Joe Biden were participating in a long tradition of the outgoing US president attending the inauguration of the incoming president as a sign of unity and respect for the democratic process.

Harris, who was endorsed by Biden to take over as the Democratic presidential nominee in late June, campaigned against Trump for 106 days but fell short in the election.

Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff exited the Capitol building as the former vice president and second gentleman briefly shook Trump’s hand before hugging Biden goodbye.
