Kamala Harris was spotted showing off her moves at a White House party to celebrate the 50th anniversary of hip-hop.
But she didn’t fly with a critic who took to social media saying she danced like a “grandma”.
Political commentator Anthony Brian Logan called out Harris in an article on X, formerly known as Twitter, for mocking her appearance while she sang on Q-Tip’s 1999 hit Alive Thing.

Harris said hip-hop is “the quintessential American art form” that “shapes every aspect of American popular culture.”

The event took place at the White House where she was filmed dancing.

Anthony Brian posted a clip of his jump to Q-Tip’s 1999 hit Vivant Thing.
The post sparked an avalanche of comments that weren’t particularly kind, with some making jokes about their sore eyes.
‘My eyes. MY EYES!’ one person said.
“Please, Lord, grant me sight,” teased another.
‘Wow!!!! My kid has better moves than that!’ someone else wrote.
“She needs to get those ill-fitting men’s suits back on.” Pink pants aren’t very pretty,” a fourth cruelly quips.

But some were happy to congratulate her, coming to her defense and denouncing “people’s obsession with her.”
“She had some movement,” one of her fans said.
“The obsession with it should be studied as a new disease. She dances better than any vice president in American history. Easily,” said another.
“She dances like the guys next to her!” WTF!? Maybe you should all take a look at Trump’s worthy dance moves! » said another.
‘She did a great job…….the TF people are talking about it??’ said one more.

Harris hosted a celebration of hip-hop’s 50th anniversary on Saturday with appearances by some of the music genre’s pioneers and stars.
Common, Jeezy, MC Lyte and Roxanne Shante were among the hip-hop artists invited to join Harris for the party at the vice presidential residence.
The 50th anniversary of hip-hop has inspired many anniversary events this year.
Many trace the creation of the genre to an August 11, 1973 back-to-school party where 18-year-old Clive Campbell, also known as DJ Kool Herc, was DJing in a building in the Bronx, New York.
Harris said hip-hop is “the quintessential American art form” that “shapes every aspect of American popular culture.”
“Hip-hop culture is American culture,” she told the crowd.

Hip-hop has evolved into a global art form, becoming one of the most influential cultural forces in the world, an integral part of social and racial justice movements, and a multi-billion dollar industry built on generations of rap, emcees , DJs, breaks and graffiti.
Harris noted that Public Enemy rapper Chuck D described rap as “the CNN of black America.”
“He always channeled the voice of the people. He tells stories that don’t make the headlines,” she said before joining her husband, Doug Emhoff, to watch the musicians perform.
Saturday’s celebration was a collaboration with the Recording Academy’s Black Music Collective and Live Nation Urban.
“It’s a hip-hop house!” » said Emhoff.
