The publication of the profile sparked a backlash on social media from conservatives who felt she should not have posed for photos with an elite fashion magazine while people were still suffering from the devastating hurricanes.
“She doesn’t care about Americans,” wrote Conservative activist Steve Cortés on social networks. “The only thing he cares about is power.”
The Trump campaign criticized Harris for holding her cover photo shoot on October 7, the anniversary of the terrorist attacks on Israel.
