Kamala Harris was photographed for the first time since conceding the election on Wednesday to Donald Trump, who decisively defeated her in the 2024 race.
The photos showed the former presidential candidate with her hair in a bun and smiling while playing Connect Four with her great-nieces.
Vice President Harris, 60, was wearing a Howard University sweatshirt in photos posted to Instagram by her niece Meena.
‘Back to where it all started just a few months ago. My eternal gratitude to everyone who was present. We love her so much,” Meena wrote in the caption.
Harris gave her concession speech at Howard University in Washington DC, her alma mater, where she told her supporters that she would not “give up the fight that fueled this campaign.”

The photos were posted by Harris’ niece, Meena Harris. She is the daughter of Harris’ sister, Maya Harris.
His voice shook at times as he addressed a massive crowd of supporters at the historically black university.
His running mate, Tim Walz, 60, was in the crowd, fighting back tears as he spoke. Husband Doug Emhoff stood to the side, looking sad. Meena Harris also held back tears.
Ella Emhoff, Harris’ stepdaughter, was visibly distraught during the speech and was comforted by her father throughout the speech.
‘My heart is full today. Full of gratitude for the trust you have placed in me. Full of love for our country and full of determination,’ she said in her first appearance since voters rejected her vision of America.
“The outcome of this election is not what we wanted, what we fought for, or what we voted for, but hear me when I say, hear me when I say, the light of America’s promise will always shine,” he said. .
Harris gave her concession speech at her alma mater, Howard University, on Wednesday, Nov. 6, the day after the election.
Running mate Tim Walz, husband Doug Emhoff and stepchildren Ella and Cole Emhoff were overcome with emotion at times during the speech.
Harris thanked President Joe Biden, his family, his staff and his supporters. He also expressed pride in his campaign.
‘Look, I’m very proud of the race we ran. And the way we execute it,” he said.
‘I now know that people are feeling and experiencing a variety of emotions right now. I understand. But we must accept the results of these elections,” he said.
Harris finally relented to President-elect Trump during a phone call Wednesday, saying he called for a peaceful transfer of power and encouraged him to be a president for all Americans.
The final electoral college results are now in: Trump won 312 electoral votes to Harris’ 226.
After months of polling neck and neck with Harris in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Michigan, Trump won firmly in all the battleground states.
Trump has become the first president re-elected for non-consecutive terms since Grover Cleveland in 1892.
After Harris’ brief campaign fell, there is already speculation about who will run on the Democratic side in 2028.
Names like Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear and Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, who were both once contenders to be Harris’ running mate, are being floated by party insiders as possible contenders.
