The couple flew to Washington DC at the end of a day that saw Harris in Chicago and Emhoff, Washington State.

The couple had lived in Blair House, across the street from the White House, since January – an arrangement that reportedly began to wear off at Harris.

“She gets frustrated,” an administrative officer told CNNand noted that her desire to move to her designated home intensifies every day.

“ When she returns tonight, she’ll take Marine Two to the vice president’s residence, ” an official confirmed The New York Times

Moving trucks have been spotted in front of Blair House this week, sparking speculation that the official residence was nearing completion.

The Victorian house, with a large front porch, pool, and sunroom, is located in the grounds of the Naval Observatory in Northwest Washington.

When Mike Pence and his wife Karen left in January, the opportunity was taken for necessary upgrades, such as a new heating and air system, renovated wood floors, and updated chimney liners.

According to two administrative staff with knowledge of the property’s constant updates, Harris, who likes to cook, asked for work on the kitchen.

While Blair House is comfortable and luxurious, Harris tends to prefer more casual, modern, and sleek accommodations.

In January, Harris moved from her minimalist DC apartment to Blair House.

Blair House has been referred to as ‘the most exclusive hotel in the world’ because it is primarily used as a guest house for visiting foreign leaders, dignitaries and other guests of the President.

The couple will be able to furnish the home to their taste.

The foundation also pays to hang artwork and install new curtains, and handles some larger projects.

It ‘partnered with the Navy’ for a major renovation during the Gore era, including the installation of a second-floor kitchenette so the family didn’t have to travel to the service kitchen in the basement.

The foundation is run by volunteers appointed by the vice president who often help raise private donations, and Harris has worked to select a five-person panel for the foundation, her office said.

In 2018, it reported about $ 250,000 in donor contributions, according to public documents.
