Sirens and car alarms interrupted Kamala Harris just moments after her closing speech for the 2024 presidential election.
The embarrassing moment for the vice president was happily clipped and viralized by the official War Room account of former President Donald Trump’s campaign.
“Just a few seconds later, the sirens are already drowning Kamala.” the account boasted of.
Harris took the stage to applause and cheers from the crowd of 75,000 people who filled the Ellipse, a section of the National Mall with the White House as a backdrop. But when he opened his speech, the sirens began to sound.
“So, listen, a week from now you will have the opportunity to make a decision that will directly impact your life, your family’s life and the future of this country we love,” he told his followers amid the deafening roar.
Vice President Kamala Harris began her crucial closing speech as sirens blared. The reflection of the siren is visible on the microphone stand.
Trump’s War Room wasted no time in seizing the brief moment in Harris’ speech.
Trump fans were quick to joke about the unfortunate event, using it as an opportunity to attack her just seven days before Election Day.
“I’d rather hear the high pitch of sirens any day of the week,” one person wrote.
‘Get used to that sound if Kamala wins!’ another person wrote, apparently implying that crime will increase if she is elected.
“The sirens are warning us all about how crazy she is,” wrote a third.
Harris’ last crucial speech to voters was delivered from the same location where Trump spoke on January 6, 2021, when he encouraged his supporters to march on the Capitol to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
The striking contrast in the images is what Harris’ campaign was going for, saying they chose the location deliberately.
“Donald Trump sat in the White House, watching the violence unfold on television,” Harris said.
‘His staff told him that the mob wanted to kill their own vice president and Donald Trump responded with two words: so what?
—And he is the one who asks you to give him another four years in the Oval Office?

However, Harris’ speech was not only marred by the momentary distraction of what appeared to be police sirens.
While there were many enthusiastic supporters among the large crowd – many of them holding signs proclaiming that they were first-time voters – there were also some interruptions from pro-Palestinian protesters.
Some of them were photographed climbing a fence near the National Mall. They were displaying signs and banners with a variety of messages, including, “Free all Palestinians” and “stop arming Israel.”
Gaza protesters have become a common sight at Harris rallies, often shouting their disapproval of the ongoing war Israel is waging against Hamas.
At a rally in Michigan on Saturday featuring former first lady Michelle Obama, Harris’ opening attack was derailed by chants of “no more war in Gaza” from an audience member.
Harris paused for a moment as the crowd booed and then said, “On the issue of Gaza, we must end that war.”
His comment came in a state where Trump was endorsed by Muslim leaders at a rally.

Tuesday’s rally in front of the White House did not focus much on foreign policy.
Instead, Harris hammered home talking points about Trump being a “little tyrant” obsessed with “revenge” and “grievance.”
He mentioned the former president’s name 24 times and attacked him from the beginning, criticizing him for his response to the January 6 insurrection.
Harris also attempted to address the area where she is most politically vulnerable: border security.
Trump and Republicans have repeatedly attacked her over the immigration issue.
In her remarks, she promised to expel illegal immigrants who came to the country illegally if she becomes president.
“When I’m president, we will quickly expel those who come here illegally, prosecute the cartels, and give the border patrol the support they so desperately need,” Harris said.
He reiterated his promise to pass a border security bill that was rejected in Congress earlier this year after Trump encouraged Republicans to do so.
Harris’ final rally focused squarely on her opponent: Donald Trump
She tried to differentiate herself by saying that she would be a bipartisan president and that she would listen to experts on different issues.
Some supporters reported the line for the rally stretched to the Tidal Basin, just over a half-mile away.
“I will work with Democrats and Republicans to work on the border security bill that Donald Trump killed,” he said.
He also noted: ‘At the same time, we must recognize that we are a nation of immigrants. And I will work with Congress to pass immigration reform, including an earned path to citizenship for hardworking immigrants like farmworkers.’
Her speech also touched on notes from her early career as a prosecutor before making clear that she is not Trump and will offer a different path forward.
‘I’m not looking to score political points. I’m looking to progress. “I am committed to listening to the experts, to those who will be affected by the decisions I make,” he said.
‘And two people who disagree with me, unlike Donald Trump, I don’t think people who disagree with me are the enemy. If you want to put them in jail, I’ll give you a seat at the table.
Harris called on the country to reject “the plans of would-be dictators” and to “begin writing the next chapter of the most extraordinary story ever told.”
“I am committed to being a president for all Americans,” he promised.

In front and to the sides of where Harris was speaking was thick bulletproof glass.
Helicopters circled overhead as the vice president’s arrival approached.
Security was seen on the roof of nearby buildings. The snipers were also attentive.
But once attendees arrived at the Ellipse, they were greeted with a party atmosphere, where Pretty Tammi, the DJ, dressed in Harris sorority colors, played modern hits, including those by singer and actress Jennifer Lopez .
