Don’t have a border crisis to work on? Kamala Harris is criticized in the comments after Bridgerton star Simone Ashley posts photos with the vice president of her at her Women’s History Month event.
- Bridgerton star Ashley Simone posted a photo of herself and Vice President Kamala Harris at an International Women’s Month champagne brunch.
- The actress was swept away in the comments section for posing with the VP, who was mocked by many of her followers for being a failure.
- One mocked Harris for failing to handle the crisis at the southern border, a role the president specifically assigned him to handle.
Vice President Kamala Harris came under fire in the comments section of Bridgerton actress Simone Ashley’s Instagram on Saturday after the star posted a photo of the couple at an International Women’s Month event.
The event was held at the vice president’s residence in Washington, DC and featured a champagne brunch, during which Harris and other top lawmakers mingled with celebrity attendees including Ashley Nicole, Lori Harvey and Megan Thee Stallion.
Harris currently has a 42 percent approval rating and a 52 percent disapproval rating, according to FiveThirtyEights.
The tepid numbers seemed to be reflected in the comments section of Ashley’s social media, where users warned the young actress to stay away from the vice president.
The vice president has previously faced significant bouts of backlash in the media for her lack of eloquence, her often inappropriately displayed laugh, and her apparent lack of knowledge on a variety of important issues.
Honor: Bridgerton star Simone Ashley marked the moment. ‘@kamalaharris it was an honor to meet you’

Comments related to the vice president on Ashley’s instagram were predominantly negative.
Simone, stay away from her. I think she is fake. I love you!’ wrote a user.
Don’t have a border crisis to work on? wrote another, making a sarcastic reference to Harris’s appointment as border czar, which has had little or no effect on the current crisis on America’s southern border.
‘Why take a photo with her? Horrible person’, wrote Cisto Reyes II.
A user named Jennifer Lauren wrote: ‘Ehhh why did you have to post this? I really liked you and (I thought) you were smarter. Stop following.
Can you name two things that she has done that make you proud of her? asked Aunt Beaudoin. ‘She was a big fan of yours, but this woman got zero percent in the polls…she’s not a good leader and she had no admirable qualities that I’ve ever seen. Stop following.
Chara Louise wrote: ‘Ummm. I love you. I don’t really love her.’
The comment list continues in a similar vein, though some users were pleased to see the couple together and many were delighted to see a photo of Simone alongside rapper Megan Thee Stallion at the bottom of the post.

“Welcome, welcome, what a phenomenal group of women,” Harris said from the podium to open the meeting. “Everyone hangs out together and it feels very informal, but this is a powerful group of people”

Ashley Simone also posed with Megan Thee Stallion, who was in attendance at the event.

The continuing influx of illegal immigrants across the nation’s borders
Saturday’s gathering at the vice president’s residence was a key event for women’s economic empowerment, and Harris took a moment to thank everyone for attending the event in her opening remarks.
Specifically, the event focused on paid family leave as an investment in the future.
Speaking to the star-studded guest list, Harris said: “Women’s economic empowerment is about investing in the future of our country.”
‘When you raise the economic status of women, you raise the economic status of families and communities, and all of society benefits.’
The Veep looked stylish in a black and white checkered jacket and a houndstooth jacket with a sheer black top.
Last year, Republican lawmakers introduced a resolution to remove Harris as border czar and have the job filled with a more competent leader.
Harris visited the border just once as vice president and hosted most of his immigration events during the first year of his vice presidency, a tip from his office that they think the issue is a lost issue and have chosen to systematically ignore it as hundreds of thousands of immigrants enter the United States each month.
