Brazilian soccer star Kaká opened up about his divorce in 2015 following a bizarre claim made by his ex-wife.
While at AC Milan in 2005, Kaká married his childhood sweetheart, Caroline Celico, and they had a son and daughter together, before separating a decade later.
Last week, it was reported that Celico had revealed that they divorced because, in her words, “he was too perfect for me.”
Kaká, now 41, broke his silence in a podcast. reported the Spanish media Sport, and revealed that he did everything possible to avoid the division, due to his strong religious values, noting that “a Christian does not marry to divorce.”
The former Real Madrid and Orlando City star said: “In 2015 I got married and my wife at the time decided she didn’t want to be married again.”

Celico, who has since remarried, explained why they decided to separate, as previously reported Sun.
“Kaka never betrayed me,” he said. ‘He treated me well, he gave me a wonderful family, but I was not happy, I was missing something.
“The problem was that he was too perfect for me.”
After their separation in December 2015, Kaká had difficulty dealing with the divorce as it conflicted with his Christian values.
He said: ‘I stayed single for a year, trying to come to terms with the situation and deal with it as a Christian, talking to pastors, because the Bible says don’t get divorced and I was there, getting divorced.’
