Kaitlin Collins smiles on air as Rachel Maddow praises Trump’s ‘impeccable’ trial as liberal media froths over conviction

Liberal media were quick to celebrate Donald Trump becoming the first US president to be criminally convicted, with Rachel Maddow calling it “final and irreducible.”

The MSNBC host spoke after Trump was found guilty of all 34 felony counts, which she described as “everything the prosecution asked for” before challenging the nation to accept the verdict.

“The test here for us as a country is not what happens on appeal or the sentencing,” he said. “This is about whether or not this former president and his allies have succeeded in undermining the rule of law.”

“The jury, from all indications, took this very, very seriously,” Maddow added.

Viewers also noticed that CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins had a big smile on her face as she read the news of the former Republican president’s conviction.

It comes as the world held its breath during Trump’s weeks-long trial, where he was ultimately found guilty of submitting fraudulent business records to cover up an affair he had with porn star Stormy Daniels.

As the verdict was read, former CNN anchor Don Lemon seemed to enjoy the moment, tweeting in all caps that “HE IS NOW A CONVICTED CRIMINAL.”

‘BREAKING: DONALD TRUMP IS GUILTY ON ALL 34 COUNTS!’ he tweeted.

On NBC News, the moment a news anchor at the scene read the verdict was also quickly met with praise for the trial.

“A total victory for the prosecution here,” said one of the news anchors upon hearing the news.

On HuffPost, the outlet published an article on the home page that seemed to celebrate the news.

The newspaper poster had large red headlines reading “GUILTY” repeated across the page, including no other information.
