Kahn Calculates Ruthlessly After Bayern Defeat.

At Bayern, the house blessing is crooked. Board member Oliver Kahn sharply criticized Munich after another blunder in the title race.

“Who was the team that wanted to become German champions?” asked the CEO ironically after the 1: 3 (1: 0) at FSV Mainz 05 and answered himself: “It was definitely not ours.”

Each individual must “take a look at themselves and ask themselves whether this is really enough to achieve the goals”. Despite the lead, Bayern gave up the game after what Kahn said was a “catastrophic second half”. Sports director Hasan Salihamidzic spoke of a “low point”.

Kahn primarily blamed the Munich professionals for the next chapter in the negative series: “In the end there are eleven men who are on the pitch and who simply have to work their ass off for the goals of this club. That’s what football is about – and for nothing else.”

Every player has to question themselves. “What do I want to achieve when I’m on the pitch? What willingness do I bring with me? What commitment do I bring with me? Everything that characterizes football besides pure play was simply missing in our team in the second half,” mocked Kahn .

FC Bayern: Kahn “does not want to give in”

Coach Thomas Tuchel, who can only show two wins after seven competitive games and was eliminated in the quarter-finals of the Champions League and DFB Cup, took the board boss out of his criticism.

“Thomas Tuchel is the last one we have to discuss,” said Kahn. “He and his coaching team are doing everything, tactically and psychologically, to make it clear to the boys that it’s worth winning this German championship title.”

Kahn, who recently came under criticism after Julian Nagelsmann’s unsuccessful change of coach to Tuchel, says he “doesn’t want to give a millimeter, not even this season.

Despite this poor performance, we can become German champions, anything is possible,” he said.
