The two-year-old boy who tragically died after being brutally attacked by two dogs at a roadside motel has been identified as Jyedon Pollard.

The toddler was attacked by a Rottweiler and a cattle dog in front of his mother and two sisters just after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Country Gardens Motor Inn in Cowra, in the midwest of NSW.

The dogs, now confiscated by city guards, are known to belong to employees at the hotel where the boy’s mother, Kesha Pollard, has been temporarily living with her children.

A grieving family member said the children had played with the dogs several times without incident and did not consider them a threat.

The family member described it as an “extraordinary attack” that happened “for no known reason,” they told The Daily Telegram

“He’s the most precious and beautiful boy, no one can believe it happened to him.”

Young Jyedon suffered serious neck and face injuries and was taken by witnesses to Cowra Hospital in critical condition and then airlifted to Westmead Hospital in Sydney, where he died later in the afternoon.

The Country Gardens Motor Inn is not pet friendly and describes itself as a ‘clean, peaceful motel on the edge of town in the quietest, most peaceful part of Cowra’.
