Despite showing promise early on in his Juventus career, Demiral made just 32 appearances for the Turin club, having joined from Sassuolo in 2019.

The Turkish international made his first-team breakthrough in the 2019-20 season, but after he ruptured a cruciate ligament and missed 19 games, he never really managed to regain his spot on the side.

Demiral was reportedly on Newcastle manager Eddie Howe’s radar and scouts were spotted when he was loaned out to Atalanta last season.
