Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri is reportedly targeting a raid on former club Chelsea for defender Emerson.

Emerson ended last season as the club’s first choice left-back after usurping Marcos Alonso in the Blues’ defence.

The Brazilian made a flying start to the season after impressing Frank Lampard, before picking up a hamstring injury which has left him sidelined in recent weeks.
As a result, it’s likely Chelsea will attempt to resist any bid from Juventus, particularly given the club’s transfer ban, which ends at the end of the season.
However, The Sun has reported that Sarri is desperate to bolster his squad with the signing of Emerson, with Alex Sandro his only current option at left-back.
Sandro has a poor injury record and midfielder Blaise Matuidi was drafted in as an emergency replacement for the Brazilian last month.
Juve’s interest could accelerate Chelsea’s negotiations with Emerson over a new contract, with the Blues keen to offer him an improved five-year deal.
The 25-year-old signed a four-year deal upon arriving at Stamford Bridge, but the club are keen to ward off interested clubs with a deal that reflects his status as the club’s first choice left-back.
