He was busy with his Hollywood star body, but his dog wanted to be a part of the fun.
Justin Theroux shared a fun Instagram video on Wednesday of his Pit Bull mix Kuma trying to get involved while doing a series of pushups.
The 48-year-old Leftovers star didn’t seem to mind the hiatus from the loving pup he adopted in 2018 in the wake of devastating Hurricane Harvey.
Help: Justin Theroux, 48, shared a nice video on his Instagram stories on Wednesday of his Pit Bull mix Kuma trying to get involved while doing a series of pushups
Justin filmed himself head-on for the Insta Stories clip while agreeing to do some push-ups to help his bulging biceps.
He was dressed casually for training in a Britney Spears 2001 tour tank top with black Adidas track pants and black sneakers, along with an anthracite ski cap.
He’d barely got two reps set on MC Serch’s Back to the Grill, or Kuma leaned over to lick his face as he moved up and down.
But the gray Pit needed more affection, so the American Psycho actor quit what he was doing to make her jump on her back leg for a hug and some stroking.
In Search of Love: Justin was sportively dressed in Adidas training pants and a Britney Spears 2001 tank top while showing his bulging biceps, but Kuma needed urgent attention
Affectionate: After licking him uncontrollably, Justin paused to let her climb on him for a few kisses while stroking her back
In the way: but even after he started again, she slipped under him to force him not to crush her
Justin went back to his push-ups, but now Kuma bent her back and lay under him so he had to tap her with every downstroke.
The actor eventually gave up and just settled for some kisses from his trusty dog.
Kuma has been a fixture in Justin’s life since 2018, when he adopted her after she was left homeless and alone in Conroe, Texas, after Hurricane Harvey.
At the time, Kuma was called Sylvia and she suffered from multiple medical issues that caused her coat to fall out, revealing the pink skin underneath, according to The Dodo.
Her eyes were also almost closed because of scabies caused by a parasite.
Heartbreaking: Justin adopted Kuma, then named Sylvia, from Texas in 2018. She was left homeless after Hurricane Harvey in August 2017, her coat fell out and her eyes were almost closed from scabies
Fast Friends: The Leftovers star adopted her while in Texas after seeing an online ad about the newly healthy Pit Bull mix a home needed. He renamed her Kuma, which means ‘bear’ in Japanese
But after intensive therapy and treatment for her medical issues, Sylvia’s shiny gray coat completely returned and gained weight and muscle.
When a message was posted online about the Pit Bull mix that needed an eternal home, the local shelter received a message from the Austin-based Austin Pets Alive president that a VIP client was interested in the dog.
The VIP turned out to be Justin, who was in Texas at the time and took the multi-hour ride to visit Sylvia, whom he would call Kuma, Japanese for ‘bear’.
The two have since become inseparable, and the actor is regularly noticed with her.
Inseparably linked: the two are now almost inseparable and he is regularly spotted walking her. She joined him in a campaign in February to get Denver City Council to revoke a Pit Bull ban
She is also a visible symbol of his commitment to dogs’ rights and their rights, especially Pit Bulls.
In February, Justin shared a photo of himself and Kuma sitting for a morning coffee while urging Denver City Council to revoke a ban on Pit Bulls.
“All they want is the right to be available for adoption from your shelters, to be registered, to be microchipped, and to be legal … so that they can be the incredible Denver residents that Kuma and I know they are could be, “he wrote.
But Justin sounded heartbroken after the Pit Bull ban in Denver continued because of a veto from Mayor Michael Hancock.
“A special apology is in order from you @mayorhancock to all of Denver’s zookeepers, who have the truly nightmarish task of repeating these beautiful dogs in the service of your ignorant policy,” he wrote.
“Maybe skip a game from Broncos and be brave enough to attend even one of these murders at UW city shelters to understand the impact of your policy.”
Failure: The measure failed and the ban continues, leaving Justin with a broken heart. He wrote on Instagram about the Pit Bulls that would be euthanized because of the measure, along with a slow-motion video of Kuma staring into the fireplace
