In Combs’ case, the embattled music mogul was hit Monday by a new wave of lawsuits accusing him of raping women, sexually assaulting men and sexually abusing a 16-year-old boy; the first time he has been sued by a person who alleges they were abused when they were minors.

At least six lawsuits have been filed against Combs in federal court in Manhattan, adding to a growing list of legal claims against the accused hip-hop mogul, all of which he has denied.

The lawsuits were filed anonymously to protect the identities of the accusers, two from women identified as Jane Does and four from men identified as John Does.

Some of the Does, echoing others who have accused Combs in recent months, allege that he used his fame and the promise of potential stardom to lure victims to lavish parties or drug-filled hangouts where he would then assault them. . Some allege that he beat them or drugged them. Others say he threatened to kill them if they didn’t do what he wanted or if they spoke out against him.

The lawsuits describe alleged assaults dating back to the mid-1990s, including at Combs’ celebrity-packed white parties in Long Island’s Hamptons, at a party in Brooklyn celebrating Combs’ then-collaborator Biggie Smalls, and even in the warehouse of the Macy’s flagship store. department store in downtown Manhattan.

The plaintiffs in Monday’s lawsuits are part of what their attorneys say is a group of more than 100 alleged victims who are in the process of taking legal action following Combs’ arrest. The lawsuits are among more than a dozen in the past year accusing Combs of sexual assault.

When the planned lawsuits were announced Oct. 1, a lawyer for Combs said the rapper and producer “cannot address all of the baseless allegations in what has become a reckless media circus.”

Combs has pleaded not guilty in his criminal case, which includes allegations that he coerced and abused women for years with the help of a network of associates and employees while silencing victims through blackmail and violence, including kidnappings, arson and physical beatings.

The Bad Boy Records founder, who has twice been denied bail, remains locked up in a federal jail in Brooklyn as he awaits his trial in May. Two judges have concluded that Combs would be a danger to the community if released. On Friday, an appeals court judge denied Combs’ immediate release from jail while a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit evaluates his request for bail.

Before Monday’s series of lawsuits, all of Combs’ accusers were adults at the time of the alleged abuse, although a Chicago record producer claimed in a February lawsuit that he had “irrefutable evidence” that Combs sexually abused minors. .

In a lawsuit Monday, a John Doe alleged that Combs fondled his genitals when he was 16 at one of the rapper’s white parties in 1998. The man, who now lives in North Carolina, alleges that Combs told him he had ” the appearance of a star and then abruptly ordered the then-teenager to drop his pants.

According to the man’s lawsuit, Combs explained to him that it was a rite of passage to becoming a music star and at one point asked him, “Don’t you want to get into the business?” The man said he complied out of fear, anxiety and the power imbalance he felt with Combs, and only later realized that what he says happened was a sexual assault.

Other lawsuits filed Monday in U.S. District Court in Manhattan include allegations of rape, forced oral sex and drugging victims to incapacitate.

One of the Jane Does alleges that Combs raped her in a locked hotel room in 2004 after he invited her and a friend to a party, gave them drinks and told them to snort cocaine. The woman, then a college freshman, alleges that Combs also forced her friend to perform oral sex on him and threatened their lives if they did not comply.

Another Jane Doe alleged that Combs violently attacked and raped her in a bathroom in 1995 at a party in Brooklyn for Smalls’ music video, One More Chance. Smalls, also known as Notorious B.I.G., was killed two years later in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles.

According to the woman, Combs took her to the bathroom to talk privately and began kissing her unexpectedly. When she tried to walk away, she alleges, he slammed her head against the wall, causing her to fall to the floor. She said she tried to escape, but Combs hit her again and raped her.

Afterward, according to the woman, Combs nonchalantly adjusted his clothing and told her, “You better not tell anyone about this or you’ll disappear.”

In other John Doe lawsuits, a security guard for Combs’ ‘White Party’ in 2006 alleges that Combs sexually assaulted him after giving him a drugged drink; a man accused Combs of forcing him to perform oral sex in a Macy’s warehouse in 2008; and a man who sexually assaulted a man at a party in October 2021.

The latter man, who suspects a drugged drink left him unable to defend himself, remembers being assaulted by several men and clearly remembers seeing Combs on top of him, naked, at one point during the assault, according to his lawsuit.
