Jürgen Klopp has landed a new role at Liverpool just months after being replaced as manager by Arne Slot.

Klopp left the Anfield club at the end of the season after nine fruitful campaigns in charge of the Reds, winning both the Premier League and Champions League, as well as numerous domestic cup titles.

In their last campaign, Liverpool won the Carabao Cup but fell short in their quest for an unprecedented quadruple, although Klopp was given a grand send-off after his side’s 2-0 win over Wolves.

Following his final game, Klopp helped raise £40,000 for the LFC Foundation by signing a series of unique items.

The 57-year-old will continue his links with the city after being named an honorary ambassador for the LFC Foundation, the club’s official charity.

Klopp said: ‘The LFC Foundation does incredible work in the community, both in the Liverpool City Region and beyond.

‘I am really proud to continue my work with them and to be named the first honorary ambassador of the LFC Foundation.

“I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do with this now that I have more free time.”

Matt Parish, Chief Executive of the LFC Foundation, added: “We are delighted that Jurgen will continue to support the Foundation as our first ever Honorary Ambassador,” he said.

‘Their support has been invaluable to us over the years and to see it continue is fantastic and highlights their commitment to the Foundation and the work we continue to do across the Liverpool City Region.

“Jurgen’s love and passion for the city has been clear throughout his time at the club and we can only benefit from having his support and voice championing the work we do going forward.”

The announcement of Klopp’s new role at Liverpool comes hours after he rejected an approach from US Soccer to take over as head coach of the men’s national team.

Initial reports earlier this week indicated that contact was made with Klopp to gauge his interest after the U.S. Soccer Federation fired Gregg Berhalter on Wednesday, but the German turned down the chance to coach the Americans.
