The Liverpool players have insisted that Jordan Henderson lift the Premier League trophy, despite their captain missing the knee for the rest of the season.
Manager Jurgen Klopp delivered a positive forecast after Henderson limped in their win in Brighton on Wednesday evening with a knee injury.
The midfielder does not require surgery and although he will miss Liverpool’s last four games in a title-winning Premier League season, he should be fit in time for next season.

Liverpool will receive the trophy after their last home game against Chelsea on July 22 and Klopp has said that Henderson will catch him first – even if his signature ‘shuffle’ may not be possible.
“Get him out of the tracksuit? I don’t know yet, we will do everything we can to do it the right way, ” said Klopp prior to the game against Liverpool with Burnley on Saturday.
“We will find a solution that shows absolute respect for what he has done. It will be difficult for him to start the match [against Chelsea] but Hendo will be there and he will wear the competition package and everything will be fine.
“All the boys want that, by the way, they all want him to be there, and that was one of the first things I heard.

Henderson cannot play for the rest of the season, but will return for 2020-21
“When we knew that the injury is not as serious as we really thought, it was a great relief to all of us because we really thought he deserves to stand for that role that he has played in recent years.
Virgil [Van Dijk] Hendo said, “The shuffle, you can do the shuffle again.” I’m not sure if he can do the shuffle now, but that’s the main problem. ‘
There is precedent for Liverpool. In 2001, club captain Jamie Redknapp missed all three of their cup finals due to an injury. He was persuaded by his teammates to drop the FA Cup, but was not involved in the League Cup and UEFA Cup trophy lifts.
Perhaps the most famous modern example was Chelsea captain John Terry wearing the full equipment to raise the Champions League trophy in 2012 after being suspended from the final.
