Costco, Walmart and Target have confirmed that their stores will be open as normal during the holidays.

Many offices and businesses will close their doors on Thursday for Independence Day.

During the holidays, families and friends will gather for barbecues, picnics, and parties.

But if you need to pick up some last-minute snacks, make sure you don’t get caught off guard by the closure of major retailers.

Major retailers

Costco, Walmart and Target have confirmed that their stores will be open as normal during the holidays.

Costco confirmed that all of its stores will be closed due to the federal holiday.

However, rival wholesale retailers such as Sam’s Club and BJ’s Wholesale Club will remain open.

Walmart will be open throughout the holiday from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Target, Best Buy, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Kroger and Publix, as well as most other national chains, will remain open.

Others, like Aldi and Whole Foods, have adjusted their daytime hours, so it’s a good idea to check their websites to find out when your local location is open.

Trader Joe’s will be open, but all stores will close at 5 p.m. local time.

Restaurant chains

Those who prefer to have food served to them during the holidays are in luck, as all major restaurant chains will be open as normal.

Starbucks and Dunkin will operate on their regular hours which vary by location.

Table-service restaurants such as Cracker Barrel, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Buffalo Wild Wings, Waffle House, IHOP and Applebee’s will also be open.

Banks

Memorial Day is a banking and stock market holiday, meaning major banks will close their local branches.

However, their ATMs will operate normally, as will online services.

Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Trust, Citibank, Chase and Capital One will be closed on Monday.

The New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq will also not be listed.

Postal services

The U.S. Postal Service will be closed for the day, meaning no deliveries will be made to homes or businesses. Post offices will also be closed.

UPS will also not pick up or deliver packages on the holiday and some UPS stores will be operating on reduced hours.

However, FedEx services will continue as normal and its offices will remain open, according to The company’s website.

FedEx Express and FedEx Ground Economy will operate a “modified service.”

However, Priority Mail Express and UPS Express Critical will be available.

National Parks

All National Parks will be open during the holiday, the National Park Service confirmed.

While some national parks are free to enter on certain holidays, the entrance fee will remain the same on Independence Day.

Libraries

Public libraries, along with non-essential government services such as city offices and the Department of Motor Vehicles, will also be closed during the holiday.
