Julia Fox has claimed she walked away from a project she was attached to for five years because of a director’s alleged racist views.
Fox, 34, who recently came out as lesbian, took to TikTok to slam the mysterious project’s “white” director (whom she did not name) claiming he did not want to have diversity among the project’s cast.
Kanye West’s ex said: ‘Well, the craziest thing just happened to me.
‘I was involved in a project for five years. I made creative and emotional contributions to it. It was like my baby.
‘I even brought in a very important A-list icon to play alongside me and everything was going great until this white director came along.
Julia Fox has said she walked away from a project she was attached to for five years because of a director’s alleged racist views.
Fox, 34, who recently came out as lesbian, took to TikTok to slam the mystery project’s “white” director (whom she did not name) claiming he did not want diversity among the project’s cast.
She claimed the director “was trying to kick me off the project. Meanwhile, I’ve been there for five years and he’s been there for a week. I had mentioned to him that I really thought it was important to have diversity in our main cast,” which apparently upset her.
‘He said, ‘Why? White people have it really hard too. And besides, casting diverse people is like using black people as puppets.’ Meanwhile, we’re actors, we’re all puppets, what are you talking about?’
She claims he said: ‘White people have no duty to hire black people because there are plenty of black and Asian projects and no one gets upset that there are no white people in the cast.’
‘He said, “Turn on Netflix, turn on any streaming service, they’re all black projects. Go to India, every movie in India has Indian people in it, nobody gets upset that there’s no diversity.”
“I said, ‘Honey, white people have been the norm so far. Let them make their Indian films.'”
She claimed he replied: “What are you talking about? Wake up, it’s 2024, it’s not 2005 or anything.”
Fox added: “I was doing Proud Boy, I was doing All Lives Matter, I was doing white supremacy, and at that point I didn’t want to argue anymore. And I said, ‘You know what, I can’t work with you, I’m fed up. ’”
She said she’s grown to love the people involved, the producers, the writers, the other actor in question, and I don’t want to spoil this for you, but I can’t believe I’m having conversations like this in 2024.
She didn’t mention the project she was working on.
The star said she “cried herself to sleep” after the alleged conversation.
Her friend Emily Ratajkowski supported her, commenting: “I want you to say names at the top of your lungs.”
Earlier this month, Fox seemingly came out as a lesbian. She posted a video of TikTok user @emgwaciedawgie saying, “I love it when I see a lesbian with her boyfriend. It’s like, ‘Aww, you hate that man. You literally hate him.'”
In her response, the Uncut Gems star, who recently opened up about her celibacy, says: “Hey, that was me. I was that lesbian. I’m so sorry guys. It won’t happen again.”
The original poster wrote in the comments: “Did I just make it easier for Julia Fox to leave… ily queen?”
This is not the first time that a child’s mother has spoken about her sexuality.
In 2022, he revealed that he was considering exploring his “gay bone” and wanted to start dating women during an appearance on Ziwe.
“Maybe my ex-boyfriends weren’t wrong when they called me a lesbian and complained that I never wanted to have sex with them,” the Italian-born model said.
She claimed the director “was trying to kick me off the project. Meanwhile, I’ve been there for five years and he’s been there for a week. I had mentioned to him that I really thought it was important to have diversity in our main cast,” which apparently upset him.
It comes two and a half years after her brief romance with the rapper; the duo was seen together in 2002 in Paris.
The star then noted: “You can find love in all places and in all races. They’re all equally horrible, to be honest, all men. It’s just a man thing.”
And earlier this year she revealed she had been celibate for more than two and a half years, after previously sharing that she and the rapper were not intimate during their brief relationship.
“I don’t think there’s anything good about having sex, or even having kids. No, I’m kidding,” the actress joked during a live show on Watch What Happens with Andy Cohen in May.
“I think with the overturning of Roe v. Wade and the stripping away of our rights, this is a way to take back control.”
“And it’s a shame that it has to be this way, but I don’t feel comfortable until things change.”
