Julia Fox opened up about her love life after her brief and highly publicized affair with rapper Kanye West in January 2022, following her split from Kim Kardashian.
While gracing the cover of FashionThe Uncut Gems star, 34, admitted she has struggled with being seen as just another of the 46-year-old musicians’ exes.
The actress stated that dating West “for a month” and the attention their brief romance generated left a “bitter taste in her mouth about dating someone in this sphere.”
‘I never want to be known as just someone’s girlfriend. I know I am much more than that. And I feel like that happens a lot to women in this industry,” she said.

She continued, “They’re only as good as their partner or they can make a whole career out of being some guy’s partner.” But anyway, either way, it becomes her identity.
Fox said his goal is to “transcend that” and “break that mold.”
‘I want to stand on my own two feet and not need a man to back me up. I did it for years. I’m fine. “I’ve established myself and I want to continue establishing myself,” the mother of one noted. “And maybe one day they’ll even take me seriously.”
As for whether to Google it, the artist said “not at all.”
“The thought of even Googling myself gives me a lot of anxiety because there’s always going to be some nonsense and then I’m so reactive and so loud that I’ll repost it,” Fox said. ‘What you don’t know can’t hurt you.’ Ignorance is pleasant. I don’t know what’s going on there.
Recalling her time as a staple of New York City nightlife, Fox said she “was the party girl” and the “crackhead.”
“I was away the whole time. I was homeless,” the Down the Drain author recalled. ‘Now that I have that stability and that safe space, that’s where I want to be: at home. I’ve finished. I’ve finished. I paid my dues. I got my street cred. “I’m ready to stay home.”
Fox went on to explain why she continues to work in the entertainment industry, despite calling it exhausting.

“I’m the kind of person who thinks I have to make the most of that moment. “I didn’t come all this way not to kill him,” she explained. ‘Because yes, he stinks, but the feeling of not having killed is even worse. You know what I mean?’
Still, he says, fame is “like a double-edged sword.”
‘I don’t know, I can’t explain it. But I also have this pressure to prove myself, because I feel like I’m always surrounded by detractors who always underestimate me or don’t take me seriously,” she concluded on the topic. ‘So sometimes I just want to come out and say, ‘I’m here.’ .I’m here and I won’t leave.’
While reflecting on his encounter with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, Fox recalled meeting Emma Stone on Saturday Night Live.
“She told me she had read my book and I literally had to leave the room for a second because I thought, ‘I just saw you win an Oscar two weeks ago.’ What?” the actress confessed.

“Then there are the girls who aren’t at that level, and they’re always a little more shy, because I guess they’re not really secure in their positions, and maybe they feel a little more threatened. But the girls who say, Honey, I never you’ll get through this, they’re always so kind,” Fox said.
The star also revealed that she moved out of her East Village apartment, which went viral for its reality last year.
“In fact, I ended up finding a place [in Harlem] “That really caught my attention, and my best friend and I bought it together,” she revealed.
As for how it compares to his last apartment, he praised “it’s a proper house.”
“It’s not downtown and it’s in an area where everyone is actually New Yorker. So no one gives a shit about me and leaves me alone, which is really nice,” she added.
