Jon Morosi reported that a decision on Juan Soto's future will be made within the next ten days

A timeline has been revealed for when fans can expect a decision on the future of MLB star Juan Soto.

After joining the New York Yankees and playing a crucial role in their World Series appearance this year, Soto’s future with the franchise remains in question as other teams hover over the Bronx for his services.

On Monday, Jon Morosi appeared on MLB Network’s Hot Stove show and revealed what sources told him about the timeline for Soto’s decision.

“I believe, based on what I have been told from sources in recent days, that within ten days we will know where Juan Soto is going,” he revealed.

“That would put us somewhere in the middle of next week’s winter media. On this day next week, we’ll all be in Dallas, reporting on the goings-on in the industry.

From what I’ve been able to gather from the team and agents in the industry, it appears that Soto has started refining his ideas this week with the possible decision by the time the winter meetings are halfway through next week.” Morosi added.

Soto arrived in New York after four years with the Washington Nationals and a pit stop with the San Diego Padres from 2022 to 2023.

As a Yankee, the four-time All-Star recorded 41 home runs, 128 runs, 109 RBI and finished third in the American League MVP voting.

“That would kind of echo the way things played out in San Diego five years ago, when Scott Boras had Stephen Strasburg, Gerrit Cole and Anthony Rendon and (they) all got together in the first part of those meetings, about halfway through. share,” Morosi continued.

On November 26, Morosi’s sources confirmed that Soto has offers from the Yankees, Mets, Red Sox, Dodgers and Blue Jays.

Reports on Monday suggested the Red Sox and Mets are the frontrunners in the Soto sweepstakes.

Soto agreed to sign with the Yankees for a record $31 million salary for the 2024 season and came within inches of delivering a title to the Big Apple in their first World Series appearance since 2009.
