During an interview last year, Twiggy credited “luck” as the secret to her long marriage to husband Leigh.
Twiggy married the actor in 1988, following the death of her first husband, Michael Witney, five years earlier.
Twiggy said in the September issue of Good Housekeeping that because of their past experiences with love, she and Leigh have always been “a little gentler” about their romance.
She said: ‘(Leigh and I) have been together for 38 years, which is terrifying! I guess luck has a lot to do with it.
‘When you meet someone, you never know how everything will turn out or what life will throw at you.
“We’ve both been through things that didn’t work out for various reasons and when you’ve had that experience, you’re a little nicer when you meet someone else.”
Twiggy is considered one of the most iconic supermodels in history and first rose to fame in the 1960s with her piercing blue eyes and beautiful bone structure.
