Josh Allen overcame the pain barrier once again as the Bills beat the Patriots on Sunday.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen injured his elbow in his team’s win over the New England Patriots on Sunday night.

The MVP contender didn’t seem concerned about the issue when he spoke to CBS after the game, but his team can’t afford for him to get seriously hurt with the playoffs on the horizon.

“Oh, you’re talking about… I fell, they helmeted me to the bone,” Allen said of the incident that occurred in the fourth quarter.

‘I went to throw the next one and I had no feeling in my hand. So I came out a little wobbly. Hell, sometimes it happens. We move on.’

Earlier Sunday, news broke that Allen broke his left hand during a touchdown run in the Bills’ season opener against the Arizona Cardinals.

The signal-caller was previously on the Bills’ injured list with a hand injury during Week 12, but the extent of his pain was not previously known.

The only notable difference is the number of shots Allen takes under center, compared to a shotgun or pistol formation.

Sunday’s narrow 24-21 victory over the Patriots keeps slim hopes alive that the Bills will overtake the Kansas City Chiefs and clinch the AFC’s top playoff spot.

“It was pretty challenging,” Allen said. ‘Any time you play a divisional opponent, you know they’re going to have a good plan for you.

The ugly ones count the same as the pretty ones, so I’m glad we can get out of here and get a win. We ran the ball well, but we have to be better in the passing game.’

Allen has a week to overcome any problems from the hit to the helmet: the Bills will return to action next Sunday against the 4-11 New York Jets.

The Patriots’ victory leaves the Bills at 12-3 for the season, meaning they need to win their final two games of the regular season from here and hope the Chiefs lose 14-1 to the Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos.

If that happened, both teams would have a 14-3 record, but the Bills would take first place by beating the Chiefs earlier this season.
