Jose Mourinho is bracing for an awkward reunion with a former Manchester United player as he prepares to return to management.
Mourinho has reportedly agreed to become Fenerbahce’s new coach on a two-year contract.
The Portuguese has been without a club since leaving Roma in January.
Mourinho will no doubt relish the opportunity to return to the dugout.
However, Mourinho may not be particularly happy with the prospect of having to manage a player again.

Mourinho was in charge of United when he signed Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2018 for £47m.
However, Fred ended up playing just 12 times for United under Mourinho, who didn’t seem to have much faith in him.
Fred became frustrated after being substituted during a Champions League match against Valencia. It was suggested that Mourinho told Fred “your days are numbered”.
Reports also claimed that Mourinho “never wanted to sign” Fred for United.
Mourinho will be reunited with Fred, who did not feature prominently under him at United.
Fred signed for Fenerbahce last year and has so far made 35 appearances for the Turkish team.
Mourinho was sacked by United in December 2018, with Fred eventually moving into a more prominent role.
In total, Fred made 213 appearances for United before his departure from the club last year.
This season, Fred was a regular in Fenerbahce’s starting lineup, having played 35 games in all competitions.
