Jorginho would consider returning to Napoli if he leaves Chelsea this summer, midfielder’s agent claims
Jorginho WOULD consider returning to Napoli if he leaves Chelsea this summer, but is enjoying a ‘special moment’ under Thomas Tuchel, the midfielder’s agent claims.
- Jorginho moved from Napoli to Chelsea in 2018 but has been linked with a return
- Reports suggested he could return to the Serie A squad under Maurizio Sarri
- His agent Jorge Santos has revealed that he would consider returning to the club
- But he admitted that he remains an important part of Thomas Tuchel’s current setup
Jorginho’s agent refused to rule out a move to former club Napoli this summer, adding that the midfielder is an ‘important’ part of the puzzle at Chelsea.
The 29-year-old Italy international joined the Blues from the Italian team in 2018 and has recently been linked with a return to Diego Armando Maradona stadium.
Rumors two weeks ago suggested Jorginho could join Maurizio Sarri, who led him in Italy and England with Napoli and Chelsea and replace subordinate boss Gennaro Gattuso.

Now talking Naples-based station Radio Marteplayer agent Jorge Santos has revealed that he would consider returning to Napoli if a bid comes in, but admits he remains an ‘important’ part of Thomas Tuchel’s line-up at Stamford Bridge.
“There are a lot of rumors about that because he did so well at Napoli,” said Santos.
‘It is a special moment for him. He is now a key player for Chelsea. However, he is an international for Italy and we are thinking of returning to Serie A when he leaves the Blues.
‘If Napoli makes a bid, we will evaluate it. He had a great time in Naples, and he has many friends there.
His agent Jorge Santos insists he is still a crucial part of Thomas Tuchel’s (right) side
“We all know Sarri loves Jorginho, but we need to understand the market and the economic situation. I don’t know what’s going to happen. ‘
Jorginho played in 160 games for Napoli between 2014 and 2018, winning the Coppa Italia in his first season there after moving from Hellas Verona.
The Italy international – who still stands at Stamford Bridge for more than two years – has scored 16 goals in 125 appearances for the Premier League side and helped the club win the 2019 Europa League title.
And he certainly seems to enjoy Tuchel’s playing style as opposed to former boss Frank Lampard’s.
“The coach wants us to be in control of the game, play from behind, even when the pressure comes,” Jorginho said recently.

So for me it’s a good way to play football that I like and enjoy, and I think it’s better for my attributes than playing long balls and second balls.
‘If it’s Kova [Mateo Kovacic], his style is to play short, to come, so I know if he wants to play one-two or when he wants some room to move forward and dribble.
So I just try to help him, or give him space, or come help him and give him an option – whatever he needs to get out of the situation.
‘It’s about the same with Kante. When playing with your friends, you need to understand each other and their characteristics. ‘
