A British woman living on the Sunshine Coast shared a TikTok video revealing that her pet hates Australia, including the lack of toilets, cafe closing times and traffic lights.

“I’m afraid to say this,” said Jordana when she uploaded her controversy Tik Tok.

“Things they should tell you before you come to Australia: The three weird things I just don’t like.”

His number one pet peeve is the fact that the traffic light system goes directly from red to green.

‘In the UK it’s a pretty smooth system. It’s red, it flashes amber and green to give you enough time to get going and go, but in Australia… there’s no finesse, it’s just red, green, go,” said the expat.

‘Before I get going, the people behind me say “green lights, go!” I don’t like it, it stresses me out.

The second thing I hate about Australia is the fact that cafes on the Sunshine Coast often don’t have their own toilet, but rather share one with other cafes and you need a key to visit them.

“It’s not just a key, it’s something like a shovel so everyone knows where you’re going when you hold the shovel,” he laughed.

He also hates that many cafes close at noon.

‘Everyone seems to close around noon, what do you want me to do in the afternoon, socialize and meet new people? How dare you?’ she teased.

Suspecting the backlash her tirade would cause, Jordana issued a disclaimer at the end of her video.

“I still love Australia so please forgive me,” he said.

Despite The Fact That She Hates Pets, Jordana Assured Her Followers That

Despite hating pets, Jordana assured her followers that she “still loves Australia”, however several Australians commented on her post that they disagreed with her views.

One Australian was quick to tell TikToker that ‘the Sunshine Coast is for retirees’ which is why the cafes close at noon.

“I’m in Melbourne nothing closes here lol and toilets are pretty much everywhere,” another commented.

However, others could relate to her struggles: “I’m Australian and I’m okay with the light system, it stresses me out too,” said one woman.

Jordana documents her life since moving to Australia and often talks about the biggest culture shocks she has experienced. However, she previously shared the unique Aussie things she loves about living here.

Firstly, he likes how ‘accessible’ it is to live an outdoor lifestyle in Australia. He loves the free barbecue areas that are offered in his state, something that is not available in the UK.

He also loves the Australian slang and says he “keeps [her] in [her] toes’.

“It doesn’t make any sense, Australians create Aussie slang thinking they are shortening words, but actually they are making them longer,” he said.

‘You don’t say “fries”, you say “hot fries”, you don’t say “no”, you say “yes, no”.

The last thing Down Under loves is the ‘diverse range’ of bird calls.

He explained that the noises range from the beautiful singing of birds to the noise of the kookaburra laughing or the screeching of some birds.
