Jonah Lees looks the spitting imagine of John Lennon as he films the new Beatles biopic Midas Man

Date:

Jonah Lees looked at the spitting image of John Lennon on Sunday while filming the new Beatles biopic Midas Man in Lancashire.

The film centers on the life of manager Brian Epstein, who died of an overdose at the age of 32.

Jonah, 27, plays John alongside 22-year-old Blake Richardson (Paul McCartney), 19-year-old Leo Harvey-Elledge (George Harrison) and 20-year-old Campbell Wallace (Ringo Starr).

He donned a retro leather jacket, paired with a black t-shirt and jeans while filming in Blackpool.

One of the stores has been revamped to become the Epstein family’s Liverpool store, which sold furniture, musical instruments and household appliances.

It was originally slated for release this year, but production was halted in 2022 after Swedish director Jonas Akerlund took a break from the film before exiting production altogether. He has since been replaced by British director Sara Sugarman.

Epstein, played by Jacob Fortune-Lloyd, discovered the band playing at the Cavern Club in Liverpool and helped them embark on the journey to mega stardom.

Epstein, often dubbed the “Fifth Beatle”, discovered the group in 1961 and led the group until his death in 1967.

The actors playing the Fab Four in Midas Man have previously been spotted posing for selfies during a break from filming in London’s Soho.

Midas Man will also star Emily Watson, Eddie Marsan, Lukas Gage, Rosie Day and Bill Milner.

It will also see a guest appearance from TV host Jay Leno, 71, as Ed Sullivan, host of classic variety show The Ed Sullivan Show.

The Beatles first appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show on February 9, 1964. Their appearance was watched by a record 73 million viewers.

The episode is considered a cultural milestone that ushered in American Beatlemania as well as the British invasion of American pop music.

The Beatles then made two more appearances on the show in February 1964 and returned in May 1965.

The band gave their last live performance on the show in August 1965.

Midas Man, directed by Sara Sugarman, arrives as Beatlemania appears to be making a comeback.

Peter Jackson’s three-part documentary The Beatles: Get Back, featuring footage of the band recording the Let It Be album, will premiere on Disney+ in November.

Jackson, the Oscar-winning director of The Lord of the Rings series, was discussing another project with the Beatles when he inquired about what had happened to all the takes of director Michael Lindsay’s 1970 film Let it Be- Hogg.

Nearly 60 hours of film taken over three weeks existed, mostly unseen, and the group had thought about what to do with it.

Jackson took this material, along with 150 hours of audio recordings, and spent four years building a story.

Doubts: The costumes look good. Even some wigs. But last night we wondered if the stars of a new Beatles film were quite the lookalikes audiences might expect.
