JoJo Siwa has revealed she’s trying to get a kiss scene she filmed with a guy who was cut out of her new movie, while opening up about her “unplanned” coming out and relationship with her friend Kylie Prew.

The singer and alum of Dance Moms, who turned 18 last month, came out in January as a member of the LGBTQ+ community. She later shared that she is comfortable being gay, but is “technically” pansexual.

“I’ve known since I was little that I was never straight,” she explained in her new… Weekly entertainment digital cover story. “I knew that, but I was never like, ‘Oh, I’m gay.’ And I’ve said to myself for a long time… “If I have someone to come out with, I’ll come out.”‘

Siwa first hinted at her sexuality when she and the Pride House LA collective filmed a TikTok in January of them lip-syncing Paramore’s “Ain’t It Fun.”

She was then in a relationship with Prew for almost a month, although only close friends and family knew they were gay and in a relationship.

“And after I did it, I called my girlfriend,” she recalls. “I was like, ‘I think after they post this TikTok, it’s going to laugh at me.’ She said, “It sure is.” I was like, “Great. Sick.”‘

While Siwa was ready to let the world know she was in love, she told her Prew they would wait until she’100 percent done’ because ‘there is no turning back’.

Prew replied, “I finished yesterday.”

Siwa said “people were going crazy” about Paramore’s video, leading her to decide she would “have fun with this.”

She shared a video of her lip-syncing the bridge to Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way,” singing, “It doesn’t matter gay, straight or bi/Lesbian, transgender life/I’m on the right track, baby/I was born survive.’

Siwa explained that Mollee Gray, a member of Pride House LA, was unaware she was gay and was concerned about public scrutiny over her sexuality. Gray reached out to her that evening and offered to remove their Paramore TikTok.

“I texted her and I said, ‘Honestly, Mollee, I was trying to figure out a way to tell you. But it’s true,’ Siwa said. “I’m actually in a really happy relationship with a girl and it’s my first ever. So I don’t mind — like, it makes all this super easy, and [I] feel super happy and welcome. And I love it.”‘

While Siwa told her publicist the next morning that she wouldn’t post anything else to fuel speculation about her sexuality, she then shared a photo of herself proudly modeling a T-shirt that read “Best. homosexual. Cousin. Ever.’

The former reality star said she took the photo three days earlier and posted it to her Instagram Stories, but only members of her close friends list could see it.

When she told Prew she wanted to make the post public, her friend encouraged her to do it.

“I just did. Like everyone is going to kill me,” she recalled thinking. “I was like, ‘But I don’t care. It will be fine.’ And I was never afraid to tell the world that I was happy or in love.’

“If that would make everything go away because I’m happy, then it’s not for me,” she added, saying that “she’s finally the happiest I’ve ever been.”

Siwa, who hopes to make a “gay pop record,” recalls the deluge of support she received, saying that “literally everyone on planet Earth” reached out to her, including Kim Kardashian, Lil Uzi Vert and Lil Nas X.

She noted that Iggy Azalea had texted her the night she came out and was a good friend to her.

She said, ‘Oh my god, I’m so happy for you. This is great,” Siwa recalls. ‘It was then 3 am. This was before Kylie and I slept on FaceTime every night.”

“We talked for a while and I had to tell her everything,” she added. ‘It was really sweet. She was there as a friend.’

Siwa also told EW that she’s trying to recreate a kiss scene she filmed with a man who was removed from the final cut of her upcoming Christmas movie “Bounce,” which is adapted from Megan Shull’s young adult novel of the same name.

“I’m madly in love and I don’t want to kiss another person. Mainly because it’s a man,” she explained.

Siwa noted that her friend is fine with the scene, but she doesn’t think her fans can separate her character Franny from her own real persona.

“That’s how they look at me, not as a character, not as a fictional thing. And so it gets a little weird,” she said.

“I’m not over it,” she added of the scene. “I’m trying to get it that bad. It will happen. It’s being pulled.’
