Fans of Johnny Depp burst into celebration after a jury awarded him $15 million in damages from his ex-wife Amber Heard at the conclusion of their defamation trial.

The jury said Heard and Depp defamed each other, but she defamed him more. She had to pay him a total of $15 million in damages.

Though Depp was found guilty on some counts and had to pay Heard $2 million in damages, it was a clear courtroom victory for the Captain Jack Sparrow actor.

Fans were quick to joke that they’d be drinking “mega pints” in celebration and hoped the star would too.

Another said: ‘I was a DV [domestic violence] Victim. As a man I thought no one would believe me. I was too ashamed of what anyone would think. I decided to keep it to myself.

“This community has helped me break through. Made me realize that DV has no gender. Today we celebrate.

#jonnydepp he spoke the truth. Thank you.’

After the verdict, Heard said: “The disappointment I feel today is indescribable. I’m devastated that the mountain of evidence still wasn’t enough to withstand my ex-husband’s disproportionate power, influence and power.

“I am even more disappointed with what this verdict means for other women. It’s a setback. It sets the clock back to a time when a woman who spoke out and spoke out could be publicly shamed and humiliated. It puts back the idea that violence against women should be taken seriously.

“I believe Johnny’s lawyers have managed to get the jury to overlook the key issue of free speech and ignore evidence so compelling that we won in the UK.

“I’m sorry I lost this case. But sadder still, I seem to have lost the right I thought I had as an American—to speak freely and openly.’

But social media users further ridiculed her, with many saying this wasn’t a “setback” because it was just Heard they didn’t believe.

meanwhile, meAfter Wednesday’s ruling, Depp said: “Six years ago, my life, the lives of my children, the lives of those closest to me, as well as the lives of the people who for many, many years have supported and believed in me were changed forever.

“And six years later, the jury gave me my life back. I’m really humiliated.’
