Johnny Depp stays alone in a hotel suite while Amber Heard hits the city with her team

Johnny Depp is locked in a luxury hotel suite where he dines alone, while his ex-wife Amber Heard enjoys London nightlife with a powerful group of women supporting her during the high-profile lawsuit that is currently taking place.

Depp, 57, sues News Group Newspapers, The Sun publishers, and Executive Editor Dan Wootton over a 2018 article calling him a “ woman beater, ” in which Heard was the key witness to prove that he had campaigned her of physical and emotional abuse.

Since Depp went on the witness stand on Tuesday, he only returned from court and went straight to his luxury hotel suite at £ 2,000 a night.

He has ordered room service which he eats alone while watching television and going to bed at 11pm so that he is fresh the next day.

Rules prevent Depp from discussing the matter with anyone while providing evidence and the Hollywood actor is forced to remain silent and distant from anyone he knows for fear of accidentally discussing his libel claim against The Sun.

Heard, on the other hand, is partying with a ‘fellowship’ of glamorous women, called ‘Team Heard’ who gather around her for the process, make big entrances every morning for the start of the procedure and host a series of social outings .

Last night, Heard and part of her team were featured in Oswald’s, a luxury Mayfair drinking club, and the next few days, their itinerary will include dinners, shopping trips and visits to other exclusive drinking establishments.

A source told MailOnline: “The trial was quite a contrasting experience for both. While Johnny is alone and looking pretty miserable, Amber seems to be having a great time. She looks really glamorous and happy. It’s like she’s on vacation with a girl.

“The women she’s with are really behind her. They are strong, positive women who are happy with the way things go in court. They have already made some small wins and are optimistic that they will get more and are determined to have a good time while in London. ‘

Depp didn’t even call his beloved kids for fear that the case would show up in the conversation. He is expected to be on the witness stand until tomorrow.

The source added: “It’s not like Johnny to be so quiet and it’s very difficult for him to plow a lonely front because normally he’s the life and soul of the party. But he doesn’t want to take chances with his case and accidentally talk about it.

“It is quite a challenge to provide evidence for so long and this is probably the closest he has come to living clean for a long time.”

Depp even avoids his American lawyer and confidant Adam Waldman in case they accidentally discuss the process. The two men are staying in the same hotel, but have not exchanged a word since Depp took to the stands.

Team Heard consists of her sister Whitney, friend Bianca Butti, American lawyer Elaine Bredehoft and Heard’s assistant Sara, whose last name is unknown. The powerful line-up is complemented by her UK legal counsel Jenifer Robinson, a high-flying lawyer who also represents Julian Assange.

Heard was photographed leaving Oswald’s, where bottles of wine cost hundreds of pounds just after 1.40am with her sister Whitney and other friends.

Depp’s ex-wife waved as she left the hall, which is owned by millionaire Robin Birley, while Whitney, who is to testify at the trial, was photographed in a blue jumpsuit.

All ‘Team Heard’, except Ms. Robinson, who lives in London, stay in a luxury hotel not far from where Depp is also temporarily located. The women have organized a number of social outings in the coming days, including dinners, shopping trips and visits to private member clubs.

As soon as Heard begins to testify, which is expected to be late next week, she will have to limit her communication with her ‘team’ and limit socializing with them.

Team Heard arrived from the US two weeks before the start of the trial so they could quarantine. They stayed in a secret rural location before moving to London to begin the trial.
