The screenplay is by Jerzy and Mary Kromolowski and is based on the play Modigliani by Dennis McIntyre.
The Italian artist’s life story, previously told in a film with Modigliani (2004), is Johnny’s second directorial effort, following the 1997 film The Brave.

Modi is Johnny’s only film of 2024, while Stephen has Young Woman And The Sea, as well as Blitz on an unspecified date.
Johnny and Stephen have already co-starred in the famous Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.
