The last time John Wayne Parr made headlines was when he was slammed by breakfast TV hosts for having his eight-year-old daughter fight in the ring.
Now the 43-year-old Muay Thai-big is back in the spotlight as he prepares for his first boxing fight in more than a decade as he faces Anthony Mundine in the comeback match of The Man.
The 43-year-old Parr, who has had 145 pro-fights, has vowed to end the comeback of the division as soon as it starts.
The 10-time kickboxing world champion meets Mundine, 44, in the ring on November 29 – despite his last professional boxing match that took place more than ten years ago.
& # 39; I am very enthusiastic. This is my real Rocky moment & # 39 ;, Parr told Daily Mail Australia.
Parr, who participated in 132 professional kickboxing fights and 13 pro boxing fights, described the approaching collision as a & # 39; life-changing & # 39; event.
& # 39; After 145 fights and battles around the world … I have fought four times for 100,000 people in Bangkok & # 39 ;, he said.

& # 39; You come home and you just immerse yourself in the crowd, no person in Australia knows what I have just achieved abroad.
& # 39; This is the first time all eyes have been on me … This is what I have dreamed of throughout my career. & # 39;
Although there are months left for the 75 kg boxing match against boxing on the Gold Coast, Parr is positive about his preparation.
& # 39; I am not at all nervous about the fight, I am confident. I am very confident, & he said.
& # 39; I'm preparing for (a fight in) Japan, so I'm already 90 percent fit. I know how hard I can hit and I hit a lot.
& # 39; Even Mundine said he feels the underdog and I certainly feel the favorite. & # 39;
Parr will compete in kickboxing at Rizin in Japan on August 18, where he will try to achieve his 100th career victory.
& # 39; It would be the perfect run-up to the Mundine fight because I am so high up, reaching a milestone that not many people can reach & # 39 ;, he said.

Parr recalled that he & # 39; destroyed & # 39; was by the Australian media when Jasmine (photo) started her first combat age eight
& # 39; It will give me more motivation to be as devastating as possible. & # 39;
Parr will then jump on a plane six days later to cheer on his 16-year-old daughter Jasmine.
& # 39; I have to fly directly from Japan to England to be in her corner, & # 39; he said.
& # 39; She will hopefully defend her international title there. & # 39;
Parr recalled that she & # 39; destroyed & # 39; was by the Australian media when Jasmine started her first fight at the age of eight.
& # 39; Karl Stefanovic yelled at me on TV and said my daughter had to be taken off my hands before I would hurt her and hurt her brain, & # 39; said Parr.
& # 39; I was on Sunrise, Today, The Project. The project said: & # 39; & # 39; John Wayne, is it true that you are trying to live your dreams through your daughter who forces her to fight at the age of eight & # 39; & # 39 ;.
& # 39; Kerri-Anne Kennerley she destroyed me, she thought I was sexualizing my daughter like an eight-year-old wearing a crop top in the ring. & # 39;
Parr said he could do nothing about the criticism he received from the media and himself a & # 39; victim & # 39; called.
& # 39; But now that she has 16, 24 fights, she has already fought in Thailand, England and Canada. She kills it, & said Parr.
Parr explained that Jasmine developed her parents' love of fighting because his wife, Angie Parr, is a double world champion.
& # 39; We are the Kardashians of Muay Thai, the Kardashians of kickboxing & # 39 ;, Parr (pictured with daughter Jasmine) told Daily Mail Australia
& # 39; It's her (Jasmine & # 39; s) passion now to become the best fighter she can be, & # 39; said Parr

Asked by Daily Mail Australia if he was worried about his last professional fight in 2003, Parr replied with a confident & # 39; hell no & # 39 ;.
& # 39; Boxing is 50 percent, 60 percent of all Muay Thai training. I win the majority of my Muay Thai battles by eliminating people with my hands, & he explained.
& # 39; It's not new, I train boxing every day. & # 39;
Parr was contacted about returning to boxing during his training for Japan at his gym, but was not interested until he heard the name of Mundine.

The game is a chance for redemption for Mundine, who was eliminated by Jeff Horn in November last year in 96 seconds
& # 39; The phone rang & # 39; & # 39; hey you would be interested in a boxing fight & # 39; & # 39 ;, the moment I said: & # 39; & # 39; I am not really very happy to do what I do with the Muay Thai & # 39; & # 39 ;, Parr explained.
& # 39; They said & # 39; & # 39; what if we threw the name Anthony Mundine at you? & # 39;
& # 39; I said & # 39; & # 39; whoa, that changes everything & # 39; & # 39 ;. I immediately said yes, it was an opportunity that I could not let slip through my fingers. & # 39;
The game is a shot in the redemption for Mundine, who was eliminated by Jeff Horn in 96 seconds last year.
& # 39; I think he wanted to retire after his last fight, what happened to the Horn thing, he's probably not coming back for the passion, he's coming back because of his ego, & # 39; Parr suggested.
& # 39; He is already retired spiritually, he is only doing this to achieve a final victory, while I still have that passion to achieve greatness.
& # 39; I have said I have been fighting and training since I was eleven until the wheels fall off. The wheels are very wobbly at the moment, I don't have much time left. & # 39;

Despite the & # 39; crazy & # 39; boxing invitation and increased media attention, Parr recalled in 1996 to Bangkok, Thailand, where he lived roughly and trained hard to build his career.
& # 39; I lived on the floor for four years. I also didn't have toilet paper for four years, & he said.
& # 39; There were no furniture, I had to sit on the wooden floor to eat my breakfast and dinner, rice for breakfast, rice for dinner.
Parr, who speaks fluent Thai, said he was the first Australian to fight in all major Thai stadiums and the first Westerner in their Muay Thai magazine.
& # 39; Anyone who goes to Thailand and says they are from Australia will say the Thais & # 39; & # 39; do you know John Wayne Parr? & # 39; & # 39; & # 39 ;, Said Parr.

"My first fight there (Bangkok) I was a fight at 1000 baht, that's about $ 30."
& # 39; My last fight there, I won an eight-man tournament at the biggest stadium in Thailand and I won a million baht, a trophy from the premier and the world title.
& # 39; I am coming back to Australia and nobody knows your name. & # 39;
A documentary about Parr & # 39; s career Blessed with poison was released in 2011 and was shown for two weeks in selected Australian cinemas.
& # 39; It shows how it all started, the circumstances in which I lived and highlights some of the fights I have had abroad, & # 39; he said.

Parr said he appreciated Australians' support prior to his fight with Mundine and promised to think of them in the stake.
& # 39; I am very grateful for all the support from Australia and for anyone who wants me to punch Mundine, I am your husband, & # 39; said Parr.
& # 39; I treat this as a community service for Australia. & # 39;
After the announcement of the fight, Mundine said: & I have nothing but respect for the brother. But I'm going to show him who Dad is in the boxing ring & # 39 ;.
The fight statement came after Mundine made the decision to retire from a 25-year sports career in both rugby league and boxing.
& # 39; I want to make sure I am in top condition, because John Wayne Parr will be, & # 39; said Mundine.
& # 39; This is the Australian version of the Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor fight – two champions from different martial arts and we know how that ended. The slick boxer easily won. & # 39;
