Just over a month after John Owen Lowe and Lucy Hale sparked dating rumors, Lowe appeared to put them to rest.
The 28-year-old actor and son of Rob Lowe was spotted leaving Tocaya Modern Mexican in Studio City with Hale in late June.
However, just days later, Hale was spotted at a dinner with The White Lotus producer David Bernard.
While Hale, 35, has never publicly addressed the speculation, Lowe, who is promoting the new season of Unstable, which debuts Aug. 1, was asked about it during an appearance on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live.
A fan called in to ask if Lowe was “more than just a friend” to Hale, to which he responded cryptically.

“My goodness. I think you can go to Erewhon with someone and get photographed and things can get blown out of proportion, that’s all I’ll say,” Lowe said.
Dating speculation dates back to April, when Lowe celebrated her sixth year of sobriety in an Instagram post.
“Six years ago today I took my last sip of alcohol. If you or someone you know is struggling with addiction, please reach out to them. Ask for help. I did and it changed my life,” Lowe said in the post.
Among the many who left comments was Hale, who announced she was two years sober in January.
“This is amazing. You are amazing. A brilliant, glowing human being,” Hale said in the comments, along with a black heart emoji.
Hale has been open about her journey to sobriety over the past few years, revealing in early January 2023, when she was celebrating her first year of sobriety, that she started drinking when she was 12 or 13 years old.
“I remember my first experience with alcohol was the same as when it ended. I passed out at the age of 12. I don’t remember what happened, I threw up, I felt really bad and I remember feeling very distressed when I realised what had happened,” she said.
She said she didn’t realize she had a drinking problem until she was 20 and first attended rehab at age 23, while starring on Pretty Little Liars.

“It was a pivotal moment in my life, but I wasn’t ready to stop drinking, so I didn’t stop until I was 32,” she explained.
