John Mayer left his fans in tears after writing a sincere message about the wildfires currently ravaging the Los Angeles area.

At least 10 people have died as catastrophic fires rage in Los Angeles for the fourth day in a row as police make a series of arrests over looting and arson.

Apocalyptic fires tore through the luxurious enclave of Pacific Palisades on Tuesday and quickly spread to surrounding suburbs as a windstorm blew embers and debris in all directions.

Residents fled their homes as news began to arrive that entire streets had been wiped off the map and fire hydrants ran dry.

There are currently several fires burning in the area, including The Palisades Fire and The Eaton Fire.

Many celebrities, such as Paris Hilton and Ricki Lake, have seen their homes burned to the ground and are facing a devastating loss.

On Friday, Mayer, 47, took to X, formerly Twitter, to share a heartfelt message about loss and devastation and snapped a photo of the most valuable thing he owns.

‘This is the most valuable thing I have. “It’s a folder of photos of my father, spanning his life from when he was a baby, an educator, a husband and a father,” he wrote, while sharing an image of the small paper folder.

‘It is the only evidence of his life that will exist over time. These are the “documents” you read about people taking from their homes. “When you hear someone say they lost everything in a fire, that’s a big part of it, if not all of it,” the Last Train Home singer continued.

‘Those who say they will be fine still have their folders and their albums. Those who are inconsolable have lost them. Just behind the immeasurable loss of life is the loss of the proof of life. I don’t practice prayer but tonight I will say one for all those who no longer have these items. It’s not about the art and collectibles. “It’s the photos, the letters, the class rings, the glasses and the things we keep to remind us that those we love were here,” her message read.

‘May those who have lost so much find some semblance of hope and support from their family and friends. Stay safe, take care of yourselves and others, and trust that humanity and all that it entails, although sometimes difficult to see, is alive and well. “This is really devastating.”

Mayer’s touching message really seems to have struck a chord with many X users, as they wrote some equally emotional responses to her vulnerable post.

‘What has happened is horrible. Thank you for your kind words to those affected by the fires, John. Losing all your heirlooms and personal photos of your loved ones will be incredibly difficult to overcome,” one person wrote.

Another agreed: ‘Beautiful, heartfelt words…the loss of such precious items will haunt these devastated people for years. The loss is incalculable.

“This whole post was a prayer and it was beautiful,” someone else wrote.

Another wrote: “Learning this lesson is difficult, especially when a traumatic event occurs.” I pray for the reconstruction of hope in the midst of so much devastation. Money is certainly not what it’s about. It is about God, humanity, family and neighbors. God bless all these victims.”
