Sales on the rise: John Lewis said it is on track to make significantly higher profits this year
John Lewis’ sales have risen “significantly” since it revived its pledge to “never undersell” this month.
After a period of decline, the department store and Waitrose owner said it is on track to make significantly higher profits this year.
The group has also reintroduced the slogan in its department stores with a price promise that will apply to 25 major rivals including Boots, Marks & Spencer and Dunelm.
It was discontinued in August 2022, despite dating back to 1925. Bosses said customers are delighted with its return.
They said that since then there were 50,000 more people visiting the website every day.
The update came as the High Street stalwart today unveiled its latest advert, produced with leading agency Saatchi & Saatchi.
It is the first of three adverts and features historic decades reflected in its flagship Oxford Street store, from the Roaring Twenties and the outbreak of war to the fashions of the 1980s.
