Actor John Leguizamo failed to convince a group of undecided Latino Trump supporters to vote for Kamala Harris.

The lack of success occurred last week The daily showduring a segment in which Leguizamo posed as a veteran interviewer.

Sitting in front of six “Trump-curious” Latinos, the progressive Chef star proceeded to ask a series of questions while wearing an elaborate costume.

The questions sought to discern the reason for the candidate’s “surprising support in the Latino community,” as the showrunners put it, as Trump’s popularity among the demographic has been left in doubt.

At one point, Leguizamo asked if a celebrity endorsement might influence their votes, prompting the group to shake their heads. When asked what they liked about Trump, one man simply said, “He’s not evasive,” leading to scenes that are hard to forget.

“It’s pretty clear, I mean, this is someone who has been at the forefront for a long time saying what he thinks,” the man behind the “evasive” statement continued to explain.

At the time, one voter observed: “When (Trump) was in government, the economy was better than what we have now.

“That’s the only part I like.”

Leguizamo, meanwhile, listened, dressed in a wrinkled, faded hoodie and a fake beard.

The 64-year-old Colombian actor also donned a series of prosthetics and then produced a series of photos showing other Latin stars voting for Harris.

Photos of Eva Longoria, Bad Bunny and Pitbull failed to convince the crowd, leading the man behind the curtain to almost reveal his identity.

—John Legweeze-me-o? he asked at one point, purposely mispronouncing his own name to prevent his cover from being blown.

One of the panlists proceeded to offer a correction, but no one else said otherwise, leading to an incredulous voiceover from the frustrated actor framed as a joke.

At one point, Leguizamo asked if a celebrity endorsement could influence their votes, prompting the entire group to shake their heads. Here you see two of the six reacting.

‘Well then fuck you too!’ said.

A series of recordings of Trump rallies and interviews followed, clearly selected to focus on some of Trump’s most disparaging comments.

Focused primarily on immigrants, they included one in which the former president flatly said he would “begin the largest domestic deportation operation in American history.”

When asked what he thought, one interviewee said the plan seemed like a “great way to solve a very, very serious problem,” while another said: “If you say immigration is a problem, it’s like you have a leak in your house; there is no problem. You have to turn off the water supply.

“Only after you fix it,” the person explained, “can you turn it on.”

“Maybe that’s what he’s trying to do,” they posited. “I mean, let’s close the border for a while.”

This paved the way for another joke from Leguizamo, who seemed to be languishing at this point.

‘But who would you call to arrange your escape if all the Latinos are gone?’ he joked.

Several laugh, including the man who just used the plumbing analogy.

“The mass deportation didn’t seem to discourage them,” he said, still serious. “Let’s try something else.”

In another broadcast clip, Trump is seen painting many of the migrants crossing into the United States at the southern border as “terrorists” from “mental institutions” who are “poisoning the blood of our country.”

In another, the two-term presidential hopeful proclaimed that the propensity for murder is “in his genes.”

On this, one voter, apparently still unfazed, admitted: “I think maybe there are better words that could be used.” We all speak badly sometimes.

A sarcastic Leguizamo joked: “He speaks evil from the heart.”

Some, meanwhile, seemed more concerned about the parade of carefully curated clips, saying: “This is stereotyping Latinos, it’s stereotyping immigrants, and the more they demonize people, it doesn’t unite us.”

In response, Leguizamo, again using humor to handle the situation, told the assistant: ‘You, sir, definitely do not have the killer gene.’

“That’s exactly why a lot of people who will tell you they don’t like him are because of what he says,” one voter said, suggesting there are larger issues at play.

Leguizamo, meanwhile, used this as a cop out: He ended the segment by saying he was “making some progress” for Harris’ cause. She then shed part of her costume, much to the surprise of the panelists, who were adamant that they still wouldn’t vote for Harris.

Another panelist proceeded to point out the apparent agenda behind the sequence of clips and specific questions.

He said: ‘With your questions and the questions I’m hearing are about ‘Seeing this, what do you think?’ I would prefer not to see that,” pointing to the television that plays the fragments.

‘So it’s better if we don’t show these clips of him because they make you not want to vote for him?’ Leguizamo went on to respond.

“That’s exactly why a lot of people who will tell you they don’t like it are because of what it says,” the same voter stated, suggesting there are larger issues at play.

Leguizamo, however, used this as a cop out: he ended the segment by saying he was “making some progress” for Harris’ cause.

He then took off part of his costume, to the surprise of the panelists.

Then he asked, ‘Now that I’ve shown you all these horrible things about Trump, does that change your vote?’

All the panelists responded by shaking their heads again; They were still determined.

The result seemed not to be what the showrunners expected, and the segment ended there.
