“Sharing all these stories and humanizing this taboo topic is a really important thing,” Teigen said.

Teigen tearfully shared her experience having an abortion at the Feminist Women’s Health Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

“It doesn’t have to be this dark scary place and the level of comfort that I felt being in your clinic was so incredible and so beautiful and something that I really wanted for myself, I found it to be such a beautiful place.” which was so, so, special,” she said.

In 2020, Teigen shared the news that she suffered a miscarriage at 20 weeks and lost her son Jack.

But in 2022, after the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson, he revealed that it was actually an abortion that, he said, saved his life.

‘Let’s just call it what it was: it was an abortion. An abortion to save the life of a baby who had no chance. And to be honest, she had never ever put it together until, in fact, a few months ago,” she said.

Teigen’s husband, John Legend, was present at the event held on the White House executive office video set. Attendance was limited to select media outlets and was not broadcast live by the White House.

The conversation coincided with the second anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade in June 2021.
