A new special set that will be broadcast later this year shows viewers who have never before seen images of the wedding of John F Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette.
The special was first announced in 2018 and was recently taken over by Cineflix.
It contains recordings made by Kennedy & # 39; s friend during his 1996 wedding with Bessette on Cumberland Island in Georgia.
& # 39; We met on an island near Georgia on this 18th-century plantation. In this dirty, dilapidated church with shutters next to a pigsty & # 39 ;, a friend of the couple says in the preview.
& # 39; No air conditioning, very little power on the island. It was the best place for them to hold a secret ceremony. & # 39;
He later remarks: & # 39; Nobody expected us to be at another church three years later for a different reason. & # 39;

Camelot: New video of John F Kennedy Jr. & # 39; s marriage to Carolyn Bessette will be broadcast later this year
Happy times: video lets the two cut their wedding cake, kiss them and share their first dance during the secret ceremony
Ideal: & # 39; No air conditioning, very little electricity on the island. It was the best place for them to hold a secret ceremony, & says a friend from the Georgia location
Gillion is not Kennedy's first friend to break his silence about the tragic death of the former first son.
In a 2017 interview with People, John Jr.'s former assistant, RoseMarie Terenzino, said that Carolyn & # 39; the world's most eligible bachelor waited for weeks before finally agreeing to walk down the aisle.
& # 39; He discussed this thing about how things are better with a partner, not just fishing, but life, & # 39; said Terenzino.
Carolyn, however, was not so sure and found the fame that would come by marrying John Jr. to be frightening and terrifying.
& # 39; She held out the proposal for about three weeks. I think he was more interested in marrying her, & Terenzino said.
The two eventually got married the following year, but it was a short marriage that broke off shortly after three years when they died in a plane crash on the way to the same island where John Jr. first the question popped up.
Carolyn & # 39; s concern about marrying John Jr. may also be related to her tense relationship with the only living member of his family, his sister Caroline.
& # 39; They had different lifestyles & # 39 ;, said a source.
However, Caroline threw a party in honor of the couple shortly after their marital conditions, which were held on Cumberland Island off the coast of Georgia.
The hardest part of being a Kennedy for Carolyn, however, was the paparazzi, and she never became uncomfortable with the constant photos.
Her husband's reaction was that she should behave like his late mother, Jackie, who said one source, and showed a smile before going back on her business.
& # 39; I hate those bastards, & # 39; said Carolyn.
However, the newlyweds were still very in love.
& # 39; To say that their relationship was wrong, is simply incorrect, & # 39; said Carole Radziwill, who was married to John Jr.'s best friend. and cousin Anthony.
However, there were difficult times, Carole admitted, partly as a result of Anthony's fight with cancer.
& # 39; The impending death of Anthony was undoubtedly a pressure on marriage & # 39 ;, said Carole.
The star and author of the & # 39; Real Housewives of New York & # 39; also noted: & # 39; They loved each other – Carolyn was quite a sympathetic person.
& # 39; She was smart, she was naughty and she had the balance that she could be really serious and deep but funny. & # 39;
Carole added later: & # 39; I still miss her after all these years. & # 39;
John had left Essex County Airport in Fairfield, New Jersey, at 4.19 pm on July 16, 1999 on his way to the airport in Martha's Vineyard on his way to the wedding of his cousin Rory.
He never came to the family gathering.
The air traffic controller at the airport of the island warned the regional FAA office in Connecticut just after 10 p.m. when the aircraft did not arrive.
In the end it was the circumstances that caused the tragedy that cost three lives tonight.
Three days later parts of the aircraft were detected on the ocean floor.
On July 21, five days after the plane went missing, the three bodies were found and removed from the underwater wreck.
The ashes of John, 38, his wife Carolyn, 33, and his sister-in-law Lauren, 34, were scattered at sea on July 22 near Martha & # 39; s Vineyard by friends and family, including Radziwill.
John Jr. made the decision prior to his death to have his ashes scattered at sea instead of being buried next to his father, mother, sister Arabella and brother Patrick at the Arlington National Cemetery.
Anthony died of cancer a month after the crash. He died just two weeks before his five-year anniversary.
It was Carole who first realized what had happened to her two friends.
She appeared earlier this year in the HLN docu series & # 39; How It Really Happened with Hill Harped & # 39; in an episode titled & # 39; JFK Jr. & # 39; s Tragic Final Flight & # 39; to play that day.
In the two-hour retrospective, she detailed her last conversation with Carolyn and how she was trying to find the couple when they learned that their plane had never reached Martha & # 39; s Vineyard after leaving New Jersey.
& # 39; I spent 15 years working as a journalist and producer at ABC News and I thought: "Okay, I have to solve and solve this story somehow, I have to find out where they are because they are somewhere." Radziwill explained.
Anthony was in his final days after a ten-year battle with cancer at the time, and the journey was expected to be one of the last times the cousins could see each other.
& # 39; Carolyn called me just before they took off from the plane. And I think it was probably a little after 8 o'clock, & Radziwill said about her conversation with Bessette earlier that evening.
& # 39; I don't remember anything really important about that conversation, I didn't think it would be the last time I would speak to my friend. & # 39;
She added: & # 39; I remember saying at the end: & # 39; I love you. & # 39; And, I don't know, for some reason I didn't say I love you and it always stayed with me. And she said, "I'll call you when I land." And then that was the last one I ever heard from her or anyone. & # 39;
With the festivities that started on Saturday, Radziwill received a phone call the night before when John and his wife did not appear on the island.
& # 39; The phone rang at midnight, and I got a sick feeling in my stomach, and it was John & # 39; s friend Pinky, and he said, you know, "Are they there with you? I am at the airport and they are not here, "Radziwill recalled.
& # 39; And then, and then I thought, "Oh, oh s ***" And I just jumped out of bed. & # 39;
In the end, she couldn't do anything to help.
& # 39; One call led to another and to another, and I often called Hyannis Airport because I assumed they had made a mistake & # 39 ;, said Radziwill.
& # 39; And all the time I call John's friend and shout into the phone: & # 39; Please, you have to find someone in John's & # 39; s family, tell them, tell them what's going on. & # 39; & # 39;
However, Radziwill's phone calls got her nowhere, and she soon realized that the authorities had to be notified of the two who had flown with Bessette & # 39; s sister Lauren.
& # 39; It was probably between 2 or 3 when I realized I had to call the Coast Guard and miss John's plane, & # 39; revealed Radziwill.
& # 39; I said: & # 39; My cousin is missing. & # 39; And then he took the name, and I think there was a little bit like a sob on the other side of the phone. & # 39;
In the People interview, she reveals that she is also with Uncle Ted from John Jr. has spoken.
& # 39; He said: & # 39; Let's take it step by step. & # 39; He had the same tone that I had three hours earlier, & Carole said.
& # 39; I was jealous of him at the time, because he was at the beginning, when you could still believe things would end differently. & # 39;
