Australian radio star John Blackman has died at the age of 76.
News of the Hey Hey It’s Saturday star’s death was confirmed by Peter Ford on The Morning Show on Wednesday.
‘Australia is a sadder place with this news. John was an incredible man. In recent years he has put up a great fight against cancer,” he shared when paying tribute to him.
His beloved fans were quick to take to social media to pay tribute to the radio legend and thank him for his famous sense of humor following the sad news of his passing.
They wrote: ‘Thanks for so many laughs, John. My childhood was richer thanks to you. Okay John Blackman’;

Earlier this year, John bravely spoke out about his battle with cancer and his surgery, which saw his jaw removed.
In 2018, John underwent a massive 12-hour operation to remove a cancerous growth in his mouth and jaw.
In January he told how his life had changed after the life-saving operation that removed his cancer.
