Joey King and Steven Piet are officially married!
The couple tied the knot on Sept. 2 in Mallorca, Spain, after four years of dating. King confirmed the news she and the director said ‘I do’ via an Instagram collaboration post with Vogue Weddings.
“Watching all our friends and family from the altar was an unforgettable moment,” Joey told the publication of hers The Great Gatsby-style wedding. “We really felt so perfectly present and it was pure magic to dive into every detail.”
The Bullet train star and The deed director met on the set of the Hulu series and quickly became friends. King reminded Fashion that they worked well together from the start.
“There was such an immediate ease,” she said. “I was very much in love but waited until the wrap party to ask him out. I mustered up the courage and pulled him aside to tell him how I felt. It was the best decision of my life!”
Piet proposed to King in February 2022 while they were traveling to Joshua Tree for their three year anniversary. At the time, the director called their setting “completely imperfect,” as it was a cold and windy day, but that didn’t detract from their moment.
“The weather wasn’t exactly perfect. Cold. Windy. Perfectly imperfect to ask my best friend to spend a lifetime together,” says Piet captioned his post at the time. “A lifetime of incredibly safe and vulnerable conversations. Holding hands during silent taxi rides home, exhausted from the delicious food and red wine. And oh, the laughter. The uncontrollable laughter. You have unlocked a dimension of love in me that I didn’t even know existed.”
King shared a similar story heartwarming message at the time, sharing photos of them hugging and kissing, as well as her engagement ring.
“I never knew happiness could be so powerful that it can take the air out of your lungs and overwhelm every part of you, making your eyes well with the undeniable joy,” she captioned the carousel of photos. “I never knew that a person’s presence and heart could feel like a real home. I never knew love could be so undeniably beautiful. I never knew until you.”
