Joey Essex’s secret role in Big Brother has been revealed, after it was teased that the reality show veteran would appear in the new series.
The former TOWIE star, 34, has just filmed the latest summer series of Love Island and will now appear on Sunday night’s episode of Big Brother: Late & Live, ahead of the live launch.
When it emerged that Joey would have a secret role in the new series of the hit ITV2 show, fans were furious as they were sick of him appearing on their TV screens.
However, it has now been revealed that the reality star will only appear in a publicity video for the series, alongside Selling Sunset’s Chelsea Lazkani.
In the clip, Chelsea is seen visiting the iconic Big Brother house with Joey, in a bid to sell him the property.

Looking around the kitchen, he comments that he’s “done MasterChef twice,” before checking out the luxurious bedroom where the housemates will sleep.
Flirting up a storm together, Chelsea and Joey sink into the king-size bed and test the firmness of the mattress, as Joey says, “You don’t want to bounce too much.”
Chelsea replies, “Why are you bouncing up and down?” as Joey flirtatiously responds, “I don’t know, tell me.”
Chelsea turns up the heat and then admits, “You know, Joey, you’re the first client I’ve ever gotten into bed with.”
The couple then check out the bathroom, where the estate agent reveals that the showers are fully microphoned, so the housemates’ every move can be heard.
Jumping into the shower, Joey is eager to make sure he’s at least blocked from view from the chest down, saying, ‘Like I’m taking a shower, now you can see me, but in this part can you see anything?’ Can’t you see anything?’
As Chelsea bursts out laughing and refuses to answer, Joey asks, ‘Can you see it or not? Where are you going? It can’t be transparent!’

A source told the publication: ‘Joey will definitely appear in the new series, although he won’t be a contestant.
“As a reality TV veteran, he is the perfect person to introduce to the housemates – he knows exactly what they will feel, so he will be a real asset to the series.
“His full involvement is shrouded in secrecy, but he made such brilliant TV on Love Island that ITV bosses are delighted to have him involved.”
The Mirror had previously reported that Joey would appear on the show, although not as a contestant, with his role “shrouded in secrecy”.

They took to social media to rage: ‘This better not be true; Enough! Can I watch a show without him appearing!!?
‘I hope this is false. You can’t keep selling Sunset and claim to have bought a $5 million house and then go on Love Island AND BB; This will ruin the series.”
‘Didn’t he literally do the exact same thing a few weeks ago on Love Island?!? “Not to hate the guy, but I think apart from this show and MAFSUK, he’s acted in all the other reality shows.”
After leaving the Love Island villa this summer, Joey declared that he would be “taking a big break” from reality TV for the foreseeable future.
Appearing on This Morning alongside her then partner Jessy Potts, she said: “I feel like I’ve done every reality show possible – I don’t think I’d really want to do Strictly.” I’m just taking a break and I have some opportunities in the United States.
