Newcastle United midfielder Joelinton has committed his future to the Club by signing a new contract.

The Brazilian midfielder has signed a long-term contract with the Magpies after a series of positive encounters.

Joelinton told the club’s official website: “I feel great.” I feel very happy and my family is happy. A lot has happened in my years here.

“I’ve learned a lot and grown a lot, and for me coming here to Newcastle was the best decision of my career.

‘I love playing for the club. I love the club, I love the fans. We had a lot of discussions and I always wanted to be here. I’m happy to continue and I hope to be successful in the years to come.’

The move is a big boost for manager Eddie Howe.

Howe added: “This has been a huge priority for us off the field and I am absolutely delighted that Joelinton has committed his future to the club.”

“Joey is an exceptional player and person, and the love he feels for the club is reciprocated by all of us here. He brings unique qualities to the group and without a doubt makes us stronger.

Joelinton is reportedly set to become one of the club’s highest earners alongside compatriot Bruno Guimaraes.

Joelinton is currently recovering from thigh surgery.
