Podcaster extraordinaire Joe Rohan speculated on a recent episode of his show that the Democratic Party is preparing to swap President Joe Biden for California Governor Gavin Newsom in the 2024 presidential bid.
“I think they’re going to get rid of him… I would say they’re setting up Gavin Newsom,” Rogan said last week.
Since before taking office, Biden, 81, has been plagued by doubts about his mental acuity and ability to lead the free world.
Days ago, special counsel Robert Hur’s report, which described Biden as a “sympathetic, well-intentioned old man with a short memory,” brought those concerns to a boiling point ahead of the November election.
The report also found that bringing charges against Biden for mishandling classified documents would likely be a fruitless effort because a jury would hesitate to convict a man who lacked the cognitive will to commit a crime.
“I think they’re going to get rid of him (Biden)… I would say they’re grooming Gavin Newsom for that,” Joe Rogan said on his podcast last week.
Some have floated California Gov. Gavin Newsom as a possible replacement for Biden on the November ticket, although he would have to beat out the more obvious pick of Vice President Kamala Harris.
Rogan’s guest, Chris Williamson, expressed his concern succinctly: “Basically, you can’t prosecute this guy because he’s non compos mentis, but you can let him run for president of the United States in November.”
Rogan then questioned whether Biden will actually make it to November as his party’s elected representative.
—Don’t you think it’s a ruse that he’s running for president? she asked.
‘I think they are going to get rid of him, I think they are going to remove him, they are going to force him to resign.
“If I had to guess, and it’s just speculation, I would say they’re setting up a trap for Gavin Newsom,” he continued.
The host went on to criticize the president for some of the controversies that have been linked to him, including the revelation that the University of Pennsylvania paid him about $900,000 for a position that involved giving only a dozen lectures, but never teaching a course. or conduct any investigation.
Biden’s think tank, the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement, has also been linked to funding from sources linked to the CCP.
Rogan called the Ivy League job an “old school,” “gangster” job, where he was paid a huge amount of money and “didn’t even have to show up.”
The pair also mocked the very specific signals Biden has been caught with on multiple occasions.
‘He just can’t keep a thought in his head when he starts talking about things. She forgets what she’s talking about all the time. He says, well, whatever. He just says, well, whatever, and he just falls asleep,” Rogan said.
Concerns about the president’s mental acuity have plagued him since the 2020 campaign.
In September, Newsom called the possibility of accepting the Democratic nomination for president in 2024 “ridiculous.”
During an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity, Newsom said Biden has “an extraordinary record to build on,” adding that he “couldn’t be prouder” but noted that the premise of the question was “hypothetical.”
In recent polls, a large majority of Americans have expressed concern about Biden’s advanced age and his ability to lead effectively during a second term.
Following the release of the Special Counsel’s report, coupled with Biden’s record approval rating, Democrats in DC and beyond are preparing to hit the panic button.
‘I think now it’s time to panic. “Biden should not be our standard bearer,” said a former senior Democratic White House official. who worked with Biden, told Dailymail.com.
It is increasingly clear that we have a deeply flawed candidate. “Democracy is at stake and this is not an intelligent path for our party.”
Waiting in the wings as potential candidates to replace Biden are Newsom, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker.
Former first lady Michelle Obama’s name has also been mentioned, although she had previously stuck to the stance that she would never run for president.
One thing that remains unclear is how the party would overlook Vice President Kamala Harris, who would be the obvious choice to replace Joe Biden.
Harris and Biden have traded places in recent months over rock-bottom poll numbers. A recent NBC News poll shows Harris’ approval rating at just 28 percent.
