Joe Rogan has warned that the First Amendment will be threatened if Kamala Harris is elected president.

The podcast host was discussing censorship on social media platforms during a Thursday episode of his show with former Navy SEAL and CIA contractor Shawn Ryan.

He warned that only X and Rumble are the only places with unlimited freedom of speech.

But he warned that the situation could deteriorate further if Democrats win in November.

‘I don’t think (censorship) will change if Kamala Harris takes office. I think they will take more drastic measures,” he said on the Joe Rogan Experience.

‘She openly discussed the need for the same rules to apply to Facebook and Twitter and the possibility that Elon Musk could lose his privileges. ‘

In 2019, Harris called social media companies purveyors of “hate” and “misinformation” and promised to hold them accountable for content posted on their platforms.

“We will hold social media platforms accountable for the hate that infiltrates their platforms because they have a responsibility to help fight this threat to our democracy,” Harris said during a speech to the NAACP in 2019.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg also said he felt “extreme pressure” to remove from its platforms content that the government asked Facebook to censor, but that he felt the pressure was “wrong.”

“There’s so many crazy things they’re saying,” Rogan added. ‘Tim Walz said the First Amendment does not apply to misinformation or hate speech. Okay, well, it certainly is.

He added that the ‘goal’ of the First Amendment is to encourage dialogue so that when ‘you say something wrong, this person who is an expert says the right thing and you correct him.’

Walz previously stated that “there is no guarantee of freedom of expression on disinformation or hate speech and especially around democracy.”

However, in 2021 the Supreme Court previously stated that there is no exception for hate speech.

“As a nation we have chosen a different course: protecting even hurtful speech on public issues to ensure that we do not stifle public debate,” said Chief Justice John Roberts.

During the episode, Rogan continued to rant about how “a lot” of what’s censored “turns out to be true.”

He referenced the mask mandate during the pandemic and said “masks don’t work.”

However, studies have shown that effective and consistent use of masks can help slow the spread of Covid-19.

A new survey of freedom forum found that Americans are placing less importance on protecting the First Amendment.

Only 58 percent of people surveyed said they would approve of the First Amendment today, a 4-point decrease from 2020.
