Podcaster Joe Rogan criticized Oprah Winfrey and Michelle Obama’s speeches at the Democratic National Convention, calling them hypocritical.

The 57-year-old comedian has been particularly incensed by Democrats for their speeches focusing on poverty and income inequality, despite their vast personal wealth.

“(Oprah) is up there talking about income inequality and she says, ‘Hey, lady, you’re so rich’ … how is that equal?” he said on his show, The Joe Rogan Experience, on Thursday.

Rogan’s criticism of the DNC comes days after he criticized liberal network MSNBC for allegedly editing sections of his podcast to falsely appear to be supporting Kamala Harris.

Oprah was criticized for her speech on poverty and income inequality despite her net worth of $3 billion

Michelle Obama said her family was “suspicious of people who took more than they needed”

Oprah was criticized for her speech at the Democratic National Convention on poverty and income inequality despite her net worth of $3 billion, as was Michelle Obama, who said her family was “suspicious of people who took more than they needed.”

This month at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago, both Oprah and Michelle Obama spoke of their humble roots while attacking Donald Trump and the Republican Party.

Oprah said protecting democracy “requires standing up to the aggressors of life” and said she had personally experienced “racism, sexism, income inequality and division.”

In response, Trump’s campaign shared a letter Oprah once sent to the Republican in 2000 (when he was a pop culture figure and not a politician) telling him to run for president, in which she said, “It’s too bad we’re not running for office…what a team!”

Michelle Obama took a similar stance to Oprah in her speech on “the meaning of hard work, humility and decency.”

“She and my father did not aspire to be rich. In fact, they distrusted people who took more than they needed,” Obama said in his speech.

‘They understood that it wasn’t enough for their children to thrive if everyone around us was drowning.’

But both speeches were criticized by Rogan, who noted that the leaders failed to mention their own personal fortunes while talking about inequality.

Rogan said: '(Oprah) is up there talking about income inequality like, 'Hey lady, you're rich as fuck'... how is that equal?'

“What about Oprah?” Rogan asked. “Oprah was talking about her and Trump running together, and now she’s telling the Democratic National Committee that he’s a threat to democracy.

‘She’s up there talking about income inequality, like, ‘Hey lady, you’re rich as fuck’… How is that equal?’

He continued: ‘And also when Michelle Obama was saying, you know, I think she was saying that her mother or her grandmother was always suspicious of people who took more than they needed.

“It’s like you’re worth a lot of money. It’s crazy. You did it on a civil servant’s salary, which is crazy.”

Rogan’s criticism of the duo’s speeches at the Democratic National Convention was echoed by many on the right, with conservative radio host Dana Loesch also pointing out Oprah’s $3 billion net worth after her DNC speech.

“It’s a little odd that Oprah, with her Hawaiian estate and multiple homes, expensive wardrobes, frequent luxury vacations, etc., would talk about income inequality,” Loesch wrote.
